I agree, always be nice. On both occasions I simply wrote a polite email and stated that it was my fault and asked for a price from both companies. I was gobsmacked when they sent things through FOC. I also sent a nice thank you letter. Too many people get too angry too quickly, in my opinion.

Always give credit where it is due & had no problems at all with Trakker aftersales in the past few years. Have had some issues in the past but that was over 10 years ago now. Gary in the service department is a great guy to deal with.

I always find when it comes to dealing with any company with a problem, it goes a very long way to be nice & polite to the person you are talking to as it is 99.9999999% of the time not their fault personally if a product has let you down & they don't deserve to be shouted or swore at for doing their job. Most of the time they want to help but if anglers get lairy at them over the phone, they then tend to not want to help.

One of the hinges on my Trakker bedchair snapped, they told me to send it back and they replaced it FOC 👍.

That goes a long way in my book, highly recommended.

Just thought Id post about my recent experience with Trakker and Daiwa. Both companies were amazing considering I was at fault.

1. I was bought a skull cap for my tempest Air V2 at Christmas and finally got round to fitting it a week ago. However, Id managed to lose the clear bag with all the clips and screws so I emailed Trakker saying how much to buy some. Got a reply from Ben on Friday and they are sending me a new set through for free.

2. Last year I treated myself to a new set of rods in March just prior to joining a new syndicate. I went for some tarty 12ft Daiwas which came with Black ALPS ARD reel seats. Somehow during the last few weeks Id managed to lose the locking collar off one of the reel seats. No idea but luckily it doesnt render the reel seat unusable as there are two threaded collars. Anyway, I asked Daiwa how much for a locking collar and they sent me a brand new Reel seat complete.

These two companies demonstrated great customer service. To get sent free parts when it was down to my mistakes in the first place was brilliant.

So, I raise my glass to Suzanne McLeary at Daiwa and Ben Wales at Trakker arise you noble folk, my Angels of the week thank you for helping out a prize idiot.
