Glad I saw this!

Booked outbound on the 14th Sept on Eurotunnel and return leg with P&O

Looks like no bookings allowed on the 21st or 22nd and bugger if I'm cutting my holiday short and coming back on the Friday

Yeah agree... bit pricey that was but at least you used your vouchers. We would have been £198 on the ferry so £11 cheaper than going direct... the saving would have nearly paid for 4 coffee!!!!... have a safe trip.

seems excessive when you only pay 167 for a van in august

Booked the sick bucket today as we are also out on 21st September. P&O have already limited slots available in the early morning bracket so guess everyone is seeking an alternative. Train on the way back as usual. Incidentally both the same price. Thought my days of ferries had long gone

We are travelling the same day.
Spoke to euro tunnel and itís closed for maintenance. They say itís may well be open by then if the work is completed. They took my number and said they would ring me when they found out.
To cover ourselves we have booked on the ferry (P+O) getting a flexi ticket for the outward journey.
You can cancel this at any time and get a full refund.
Hopefully tunnel should be sorted in time.

As I will be travelling on the 13/14th to France rather than guess / rely on rumours etc. I have emailed Eurotunnel. They said there is planned maintenance but the tunnel will not be shut. They are working on the timetable and will update as soon as possible. No bookings can be made until this is complete.

There is planned maintenance on th 14th and 21st apparently, might not affect the 21st if they can get the work done on the 14th but I guess they are covering their arse.

Possibly, although no mention of this on their site.
Saturday not a great choice for a shutdown though..... probably the busiest day.
