Glad I'm not the only one they told porkies to about delays with blanks. I also recall there being a postage issue with mine!

The rod bags thst century had also 'run out of' never arrived either despite them chasing up with the person who posted them. Strange as century got me a set two days after contacting them and again confirmed they had never run out of bags.

To be fair to Tom I inquired about a set of 3 rods to be built and he did set my expectations in terms of being busy and a current turnaround time of 12-16 weeks

I need them sooner so have gone elsewhere

Tunley takes 2 months but bear in mind the more folks pester them for updates and cosmetic changes, the longer it takes.
Too many people want everything done yesterday.
That said, this is **** service, do the job or stop trading.

Had a new set of baby ballistaas off them last year. Workmanship is spot on. Customer service awful and wouldnít use them again.

Quoted 8 weeks in June so put down deposit. 8 weeks later asked for eta told running 2 weeks behind due to hot weather.

At week 14 asked what was happening to be told they didnít even have the bloody blanks. They blamed Harrison saying they had run out. Contacted Harrison (what a helpful company) heard back from Steve Harrison within the hour saying that they had plenty of stock of the blanks and heíd sort it next day. Next day he messages me saying he had sent the blanks to Cotswold rods that day.

4 weeks later the rods were finally ready so made final payment and was told as it was Wednesday they didnít want to send the rods out on a Thursday in case there were delivery problems. So they waited until the following Thursday to send them out??. The rods then got lost in tnt and I finally got them a week later surprisingly undamaged (however havenít used them as it was December. In total I waited over 20 weeks for those rods.

Build quality brilliant but will never use them again!!

Had three sets of rods done by them. Quality superb but all late. My mate smashed his tip section and they built him a new one free of charge Didn't even charge for the blank. I would use again but be prepared for a wait.

Their quality is ace, but they've been making excuses about why orders take so long for years. A search on here shows that

Shame really

Tom explained that his partner had been ill so they were running late with orders, which is fair enough. I mentioned he needs to communicate that he's running behind otherwise it leaves us customers in the dark and pissed off to which he agreed with.

Either way as long as the quality is there I'll be a satisfied customer, i don't mind waiting - as long as i'm kept in the loop.

I ordered some rods from them a few years ago, and everythign went through fine, and the end product was great.

I had another great experience with them about two years ago. I was stupid enough to stand on the butt section of one of my rods, splitting it close to the but handle. I sent Tom a message, he told me to send the rod in. Within two weeks he had it abck to me good as new, and didnt even charge a penny, could not have asked for better service than that.

Im sure that like all of us, other commitments get in the way from time to time. Im not exscusing a lack of communiation, but it does happen, but hopefully it all gets sorted and you get your new rods soon.

off topic - but I have used Mark Tunley for a special gift and he was superb in terms of understanding the spec, communication and product quality.

Tom built rods for me, never had a problem. He told me when they would be ready, which they were and the quality was fantastic. Would recommend them and use them again without worry.

Only used them once with mainly positive feedback. Ordered a set of R1 rods back in November 2014 that were already part-built (albeit wanted some graphics added and couple of minor changes). Communication was good (over phone and via messenger). Rods were due to be shipped on Monday to arrive Tuesday but no joy come Tuesday. Contacted them and informed by messenger that owner had flu and there was a delay. Rods arrived on the Saturday morning so only a few days after they were due to which is good considering the timescales that some people have waited. Build was excellent and still going strong over four years later.
