Get Cotswold to work with jag on the manufacture as they did on the pod bag, just need Chris to design something special. Unfortunately just like some carpers ( not anglers) that cash in on others hard work someone will take the design to China and have it copied and sell it at a much cheaper price and then those that couldn't afford the original will be telling us how we were ripped off and mugs for buying it.

The original Pioneer was very large and rather heavy, but Chris got the design spot on, with the size of it the Block hardly had to do anything.
In fact I set up one of the first five made with Roger Seaton when we was fishing on “The Wood” , the material was far superior to the later stuff, had a kind of velvet feel to it, remember walking around in it – zero light came in, was like being in a big green Igloo!

But then people started moaning about the weight, and the Pioneer Ultra light was developed, smaller, lighter and the Poles/Skin under one hell of a lot more tension due to the increased curvature of the Poles.

Like I said mine sheared the S Clip about five hours after I had built my own up myself at Lower Healey (Aqua factory location in Chorley) I remember tying it to a rope via the block and hoisting it up in the air under a powerful spot lamp to check for holes in the skin.

Off memory I did try Carbon Poles in the Ultra light - but the tension on the skin started to pull the stitching apart.
Carbon Poles did work in the Aqua Lite thou, as I fitted them in to mine for a while – then removed, sent off for evaluation to Chris I presume (I made/fitted another set) If I was Aqua I’d be more inclined to re-release a Aqualite.

Bradders, ask them to put me at the very front of the queue if that ever happens. I'll pay top money to. Sometimes carp fishing does not realise what it has, until it is gone. He needs to come back and show them all how to make a bivvy in 2019.

Give it up Oldgeezer. I love you a bit, long before I joined this forum, I purchased so many things on your recommendations. Loads of bits. Brilliant man. You saved me and my dogs getting eaten alive. Please don't spoil it all now, with this crazy, psychopathic notion, that the original Pioneer, was as good as the Ultralight. I had both. The original Pioneer was soon discontinued, for good reason to. You must be tipsy, that will be it.

You're wrong, just deal with it, and move on

Ultralight is better

I'm talking about the very specific case, of when production of the Ultralight moved over to Trakker. They put alloy screws into the top hats on the block. Instead of the Aqua steel nut and bolt. The top hats would fail on them. When they became loose, they would distort the S clip to. Causing either the top hat to blow up, or the S clip to give way. I've given advice to some one on this forum already of exactly what to buy for pennies, and how to fix them.

Once nut and bolted, this has never happened to me. I've been using them for years, I've had loads of them. I've helped people buy cheap broken Trakker ones for buttons, and fix them forever in five minutes. Loads of times. It used to be a fun game for a couple of my mates.

I've never broke a single pole, unless it was my fault. Opened them gawd knows how many thousands of times. Only pole I've ever broke in donkeys years in fact... Is when a big bit of tree fell on the bivvy, while pike fishing in a monster storm. We were lucky we did not die. The centre pole on the Ultralight saved us. Me and a friend were sitting on two chairs, it would have come through right between us. Smashed the bivvy to bits, blew it up. But it saved us.

I have tried get Julie (original aqua) to get Chris come back and start a new brand and bring back the quality of the old aqua and if they could work with jag to do the frame I'm sure it would be absolute quality
