From what i am hearing the Aquatexx on the Pioneer surpasses anything available at the moment (akin to original quality). People have been demanding this quality for years. If people want best quality fabric materials then the payoff is always weight ... I think Aqua should be credited for this (assuming long term reviews stay positive). The fact the Tempest is such a good alternative is also credit to Aqua/Trakker ..... Carp anglers never had it such good choice

But the tempest bivvy is aquatex. A usable size and height and only weighs about 6kg. Iím sure they could have increased the size and used the fast and light aquatex to keep the weight to a useable amount. Maybe use carbon sticks.

To give you an actual example. Aquas m3 compact weighs 11.5kg using full weight aquatex. The cyprinus m3 compact uses the light weight aquatex and weighs 7.2kg.

So they could have easily built a usable size and offset the added frame weight with the f&l aquatex

I cant see how Aqua can win in this. If they make it lighter people, will moan about the materials used as the quality will need to be compromised. When they offer high quality materials, people moan about the weight

Imagine how heavy the full sized mk2 will be. Will need a health warning.

I have not been a fan of Aqua quality myself the past few years. But I take my hat off to them on this one.

I too went to see one in the flesh as well yesterday and wow. The quality is something else.

Unfortunatly, it's way too small, too low and heavy for me as well though.

After seeing this in the flesh today, I'm glad it's way too small for me as I probably would have got my cash out there and then if it had been bigger.
The quality of this seems way above anything aqua has brought out for a long long time. The colour and thickness if the aquatexx looks just like the original union Jack stuff.
I'd be very surprised if they don't bring a bigger 1 out in the not too distant future.
