Turbo German sounds like a bull queer from Hamburg into hardcore techno and amyl nitrate, who thinks up these names.

i know a few guys on here recomend bank tackle.just to let you know i bought some of their ring swivel clips(size 11)to make ronnie hooks.if you use a length of shrink tubing that covers the eye to the barrel of the swivel they do not spin freeely like the gardner or korda 1s.you have to just cover the eye to te open clip to get them to spin
freely

Correct - awesome rig the Tweaked German......caught me alot of fish over last 18 months.

Didnt seem to hook as many with the standard German.......

I like using the Korda Spinner swivels with the Korda Kickers - no messing swapping hooks over if blunted etc....

Ronnie has a hinge since it uses the ring swivel.

The Turbo doesn't have the hinge as it is tied to a clip swivel. The hook is supposed to turn easier on the Turbo than on the original German rig. That's the theory anyway.

You can hear Lewis Read explain the rigs here:

The Ronnie rig link Ronnie
(You can tie the Ronnie with a loop knot at the swivel end to give it more movement)

The German Rig link German

The German Rig Turbo tweak Link German Turbo

This . It's just a variation of the ronnie with a different swivel. Really no need for another name

Doesn't the Ronnie use a ring swivel but the turbo German just a normal swivel?

Looking at what the little improvement that has been introduced to the German rig to call it the turbo German I am struggling to see the difference between the two rigs maybe you guys can shed some light on it
