Best not to run before we can walk Josh, they pulled down the cattle market a few years back and replaced it with a state of the art shopping center, Waitrose, multiplex cinema which must have at least 3 or 4 screens with about 6 new food/restaurants and at least 20 shops that moved out of the town center into the new offering as they were pumping free rates for the first two years, I was blown away when Wagamama's turned up, it's a classy development they even kept the design in keeping with the old cattle market so that we would'nt feel offended.

Were famous for the 3 B's Bulmers, Bulls & Bad Developments.

Handy places them Costco's unfortunately the closest one to my City (yes City we have a Cathedral) is probably Bristol or Cardiff, I'd rather take my chances driving in France after Brexit, every cloud and all that though it was headline news this week a planning application has been submitted for our first ever Burger King, I was first converted in Marbella in 1987 to the wonderful culinary delights of a Burger King and 32 years later we might finally be getting one, I do hope Brexit doesn't bugger it up.

If you go into Costco for a couple of bits and spend any less than £400 youíve had a result. Last year I came out with a set of ladders, a tv, a Ralph Lauren jumper, a set of pots and pans, a gazebo and enough cakes to feed 5000 among a load of other **** I didnít really need. Only went in to get some coffee pods

What have I missed? I've just been finishing the fall out shelter, it's well stocked I've gone for one candle for when my batteries run out on the head torch, food wise gone for seven pots of porridge seven pot noddles and seven tins of soup anything that doesn't get used I will take fishing afterwards, there is also a backup plan if it does get serious I will pop round my mum's she's always offering me a sandwich when I pop and see her might only be jam as she's of a state pension age, I swear she's got peanut butter but keeps that for herself.

Who knows what will happen it's like kids at Christmas stop peeling back the corners to try and take a peep and wait patiently for the surprise, I won't starve I can still set a snare and tickle a trout, talking of which the misses has just got in the bath.

There are 2 options now as I see it:

1) No deal thus no Brexit

or

2) No Deal Brexit.

I know which I would chose but frankly, my dears, I (no longer) don't give a damn! I'll be in my box by the time this mess gets sorted, thank ****!

Yeah.... but it was leaver types that wanted it closing down when aked for evidence that underpinned their reasoning on the benefits of brexit. Words like believe and faith aren't evidence.

Conditioning of the mind? Stop talking about yourselves! That's also a very strange way to look at democracy.... be prepared for civil unrest?? I totally disagree with the result of the vote and will use my democratic right to disagree until the matter is settled once and for all.

How can more democracy in the form of a further vote now the truth is out there be anti-democratic?

I think I can agree with you on one thing..... the last line of your post!

Seems a lot of people think if they say it enough then it won't happen, a sort of conditioning of the mind.
If for some unlikely reason it succeeds then be prepared for civil unrest

Are we leaving though ??
May has a deal but its unlikely to get voted through so that would mean a No Deal Brexit on the 29th March but the politicians are know attempting to get an amendment to prevent a No Deal Brexit, and if they succeed with the Labour, Tories, LiB Dems and the rest of them joining forces seems likely then what ?

Rather than get all political I will just answer the question, we will still have to drive on the right hand side of the road after brexit

On a political side, after brexit the EU will start to fall apart, only the politicians want to be part of it, the French voted leave way before us but it got thrown out by there government.

Iím just glad May listened to the people and done what they asked whatever happens, rather than come up with a load of bo***ks and fulfil nothing.

Donít forget to withdraw all your money out the bank and stock pile tinned food as the end of the UK nears, come the summer we will turn into Africa eating emergency rice rashons on a dusty empty M25!!

Transport and trade will be severely affected. We havenít the time to create the infrastructure and hire the staff necessary to facilitate the border checks that will be necessary for food and car parts and all the other things we are going to need. Stuff simply wonít get through in anything like the time it takes now which will cause chaos.

No deal should not even be in the building let alone on the table.

What happened was that governments and companies spent hundreds of billions of pounds getting ahead of it and patching the problem so that in the end there was very limited damage.

What is happening with Brexit is they still haven't made the impact assessments publicly available, most MPs haven't read them and they are not trying to fix what will happen if we leave without a deal, thus rendering 759 treaties and agreements inapplicable to the UK that will all need replacing and/or renegotiating for us to retain some semblance of control.Without them or an agreement in place then under international law we will be pretty much cut off. Even a cursory look at those agreements should make anyone realise that no deal will be a disaster.

But don't worry, the government have given £14m to a ferry company with no ferries and the terms and conditions of a pizza delivery firm in readiness.

I am traveling to France two days after all this ******** is supposed to be happening, hope it doesnít affect my trip but if it does not a lot I can do about it.

I was having a conversation about this subject with a chap who at the time captained a rather large ship and he happened to mention the millennium bug and how many seminars, training days, practise drills he attended for the day the world as we new was going to end there were going to be planes crashing into each other, boats colliding and sinking trains going backwards all these chaotic scenarios that was literally going to paralise the world and itís everyday running.

What happened, **** all.

Ignorance or arrogance?
I wonder what it is?

Brexit just might have the biggest impact on the UK that we see in our lifetime. Chances are that in 10 years we'll look back and say it was worth it.... but in the short term it could be a rough ride.

Maybe he does something that requires some sort of ability to look at facts and draw logical conclusions? Maybe his job involves finding expert advice to deal with questions that he is not equipped to answer himself? Who knows?

People can be really good at lots of jobs without being a massive hit socially. I met one today as it happens, he is a surgeon. Knew his stuff, 25 years of experience, but not one joke.

Maybe for your job great social skills are a fundamental requirement. Some jobs are like that ... Rent boys, for example.

Yep

We are the smaller of the 2 and we have the most to lose. Yep, the EU will be damaged by this but we'll be worse off. The EU are playing for the least damage to themselves... obviously....

I don't see any positive words coming from Brexiteers... they seem to have done a runner. Where are they? Where is their positive outlook?

How will the UK economy be affected by a hard brexit?
House prices?
Business?
How will the ports manage?
Employment?
Immigration policy?
Financial markets?
Value of pound?
Uk financial service industry impact?

I don't know why everyone's so worried about driving after brexit.

The English survived perfectly well before 'driving' was invented. Just walk, like our brave boys did on the way to Agincourt.

A bit more belief in the power of the Great English Leg wouldn't go amiss. And just think of the impact it would have on Michelin, Citroen, Peugeot and all the other French motor-related firms. They'll soon be on their knees begging us to drive again.

I agree but a quick Google and it is indeed the most visited country (followed by Spain, USA, China and Italy). So that makes carp fishing and even smaller income for them when compared to all other tourism!

France is the most visited country in the world,I don't think its tourism or GDP will be affected if a few brits decided not to go

Upon entering France all fishing gear will need to be surrendered and correctly marked along with all luggage and left on the platform .
It will then follow on to you as you board a cattle truck for relocation in the EU .
All carp anglers will wear an armband with the letter C on .
Those that donít who are caught will be shot or given a choice to fish Bossard for a mythical 68 lber with a hand line .
Failure to catch a mythical monster you will be shot also .

I donít think anybody is expecting a seamless exit but as per post 18, making it too hard will cost the french , whether thatís fishing, tourism, exporting and many other forms of revenue stream.

Donít Cut your nose to spite your face.

Same as any business that deals with any cash, some are straight and declare it all and some hide bits away. The fisheries main bulk of income will be via bank transfer though and small amounts of cash for bait and food.

Or are you saying the french have no idea the value of the fishing industry?

Fishing is a mulity million pounds earner for the French, not to mention tourism.
They will know how many are on the ferry and train from the UK they wouldn't want to loose any of that.

Well my prediction is the eu will try and profit from us as individuals just like they have with our government, they may try and make us buy a visa or similar but they can't make it prohibitive price wise as they will be desperate for tourist cash.

They'll be winners and they'll be losers but whatever happens you can bet your life that Channel 4 news will only report the later and will create countless documentaries about it.
