You can't set up a direct debit from someone else's account. Direct Debits are not available to individuals.

He can set up a standing order from his account to your account if he wants to make a regular payment to you.

As Josh has suggested, he can make an electronic payment via online banking into your bank account & you can then pay the funds into your credit card account.

Why not just transfer it into your current account and then make the payment off the credit card balance?

If you use online banking you should be able to set up a direct debit from his account so he can pay you back. You should be able to set the amount too.

Good on you for helping your mate out

think it should as i can transfer funds from current account into credit card account so no reason why paying in wouldn't work, after all banks pay into credit accounts for cashback etc

I never use my credit card, emergencies and purchases abroad only, but if a mate owed me some money and I gave him my credit card numbers, can he pay me and that would come off any balance owed?
