The chalker / chalkboard was nearly always on the left of the board , so you naturally leave the oche the other side .

More often than not the scoreboard is on the right, and always is on the tele so might just be habit having a look at the score on the way off or if their used to marking their own score in practise.

Im not really a darts buff, so Im guessing that most throw right handed, and once the third dart is thrown, the next player can be getting in position, so the previous player needs to retrieve his darts asap. So leaving on the right would be the quickest way to get clear from a right handed dart throw?

Surely there still be plenty of room and youd still be able walk off to the left.

Could well be the reason though, never thought of that.

Well,in the pubs around here sometimes you have to because of a wall or table being in the way,i`d know because I played super league for years on a Tuesday..or


if your called Gerwin Price it doesn`t matter ,just leap up n down and REALLY put the your opponent off...lol

After retrieving their darts walk away from the board to their left of the oche.

Why is that I wonder?.
