I couldnít go back to separate bag and bed . Sleep system is so much more convenient for me . Highly rate my fox flatliter mk2 and thermal cover

I think it goes to show how different so many people are ;

I have the Nash wideboy SS3 and found it far to warm , just using the one bag on top , maybe in the dark depths of winter I may sleep under the second one .

To be fair I do feel the cold, especially my feet. Perhaps itís the bag design/shape rather than the actual quality of the insulation but I definitely stay warmer in my aqua rather than the ss3.

My original SS3 was never warm enough in the winter ... I tried a foam mat under the mattress but it only marginally improved it

I'd pretty much agree. Used my ss in minus conditions with no probs. I don't feel the cold a great deal though so maybe it's just me..

I guess it comes down to what is perceived as 5 seasons. Personally Iíd say from 5 down to 0 is 4th season and any lower is 5th season territory.

I don't get that about it not being warm, I guess we all feel the cold differently though. Id say single layer is 3 season, add the second and its definitely 4+, maybe 5. On the new one I've just got the second layer is a bit thicker, so I'd say it's got to be 5 season

Bought a thermarest 20 years whilst travelling. Excellent bit of kit, used it for fishing ever since. Stopped using it a few years ago once I started using the Avid bedchair and not missed it.

Fair enough. Never noticed a draught myself, but I do have a foam mat under my matress so maybe that stopped it. The mesh on mine original one did sag, but not for a few years. Each to their own I guess

Yeah I totally agree with you on these points and Iíd also add that I think in order to allow the bed to be folded up with the covers attached they skimped on the fill. These are not warm. At best a three season. As an example when I use my aqua bag in winter I can use it on its own, if I use the ss3 then I have to use a thermal cover and water bottle or my feet will get so cold I canít sleep properly.

From memory .... The mesh base sagged, there was a draught from underneath and i didnt like the fleece used on the inside of the sleeping bag layers.

I loved the idea, but in reality even without these faults seperates cant be beaten in terms of versatility or quality imo

Had a Nash SS3 when they fist came out for a season or two but the novelty did wear off as the shortcomings became evident. Been seperates ever since - lightweight bedchair (I have Whchwood Compact, JRC Stealth and a Trakker RLX Superlight) , Thermarest 5.0mm Inflatable Mat (the best addition anyone can buy imo), Aqua Sleeping Bag or Trakker Armotexx bag with a cover or Armotexx sleeve ... I chop and change depending on what i fancy.

Separate for me, memory foam mattress spring and autumn, helium 3.8 inflatable in summer.
This with a vastly overpriced fortis bag keeps me comfortable.
Someone mentioned a wychwood bed, I had one for many years, the build quality was pants, the bars bent but it was really comfortable. I think it bent to the shape of me lol.
