Time will tell, but I think Cyprinus have missed the point with this one. Everyone who owns the tempest brolly loves it, but some people don’t want to spend £220 plus extras. Fair enough. If cyprinus would have ripped it off for £150 with their cheaper extras then those people are happy.
Instead they have marketed it as a semi premium product with a high RRP that they will discount to a still fairly premium price that looks good against their own RRP. As they are their own direct retailer the RRP is nonsense. I could sell my sweaty underpants on a website for £10 at a 90% discount from their £100 RRP. If it was my website.
The zip in groundsheet must be something the factory recommended in China, I can’t see why anyone would want this. The cam locks also. Does it have anti twist poles? If not that is another step back.
Safe to say I won’t be trading in my V2 brolly just yet

this forum is the only time i hear/read complaints about the height of bivvies ... ive never heard it on the bank. A 1man bivvy has always been between 125cm-135cm .... If you want taller bivvy there are plenty of 2man bivvies that will give higher dimensions ... there are loads to choose from

In reply to Post #341 Maybe they’re just implying the top of the range tempest and some sort of extra this has, would cost £850?
Or that if they were not their own distributor, that is the retail equivalent you could be paying..
Or they’re just full of ****

In reply to Post #345 Got to agree rrp is just wishful thinking. It's what they sell for in the real world that counts.

In reply to Post #343 Yeah, understand that. I worked in retail for near 40 years. If it's a genuine discount then RRP it to the hilt to maximise sales, but Cyprinus are just plucking large figures out of the air for their RRPs surely.
What next..Buy one get one free..Cost £849.99? 😂

In reply to Post #341 RRP is £850 but selling for £400......

In reply to Post #337 All the companies do that, not just tackle companies. Mark something with a massive rrp then price it much less so it looks a bargain. Nash even put their rrp ssp and trade prices all in their trade price list so shops can advertise these big "discounts"

In reply to Post #340 Cant agree with that m8 I think the split is more like 50/50 so we will have to agree to disagree

£849 RRP ? 😮 Cyprinus are taking the pi55.I would love to know how they justify that.
As they have only one retail outlet now,are they recommending that price to themselves?

In reply to Post #339 Some do gerry yes, but you are in the minority by the sound of it mate. The companies cater for the masses, not the minority. It wouldn't make good business sense for them to cater for the smaller market. Something like this, cyprinus are aiming for the mass market, tempest type bivvy users. You may find that if this is a success then they bring out a taller version like nash have with the hide
