A recent rig thread went off topic & was locked, must behave in this one. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I personally don't agree with them but let's keep this to the running/fixed leadclip debate.

I'm talking the korda ones that are designed to eject the lead on a heli setup. Simple physics should indicate what's bad about them and it's been done to death on here. It's also off-topic so I probably shouldn't have mentioned it.

Leadclip - unnecessary
Running lead clip - bad
Heli clip - most bad
Blaming leadclip for mouth damage - way off the mark

In the spirit of keeping this thread civil I won't say any more than that.

The fish will drag the lead clip and lead around until the leadclip snags up against something.
The leadclip\swivel lead the way, the lead is just dangling behind.
The lead will only come off if the leadclip doesn't snag.
Sure, the lead in some scenarios can snag up before the leadclip does, but not enough in my opinion.
The trouble is, people watch these videos where the hand grips hold of the lead and pulls it off, but there are no hands under water.
And then you have this problem of many anglers putting the tail rubber on too tight.
You only have to look at some of the mouths on popular day ticket waters where most anglers are using fixed leadclips... figures.

If it's fixed, many scenarios where the lead won't release.

Running Leadclip all the time.
Safer (in my opinion), more convenient, and more effective.
This is fishing mono straight through - no bits, knots etc. above the lead.
