In reply to Post #3545 Yeah. Got the front line I wanted. With the amount of games we've played I'm not surprised.
Good to see that the young lads have the same philosophy as the 1st team in the way they play

In reply to Post #3541 Definitely
Up against the only manager to win against us this season on Sunday (not counting the villa vs lfc toddlers game of course). Still a few players injured so I can see a few of the young lads getting a chance maybe. Be nice to see minamino and Elliot either side of origi up front

In reply to Post #3538 Nah... Everton haven't been a big club since the 80's...
We were quietly brilliant tonight. Could have had 2 or 3 more goals if not for their keeper. New record for passes in one game at 969... even pep's city can't match that.
Matip, lovren, Fabinho, the ox to come back from injury and minamino ready to go.
I reckon Harry Kane looked at the upcoming fixtures and just didn't fancy it...

In reply to Post #3533 They were tough to beat at their place. Can see them playing the same tactics tonight. Hopefully klopp won't rotate too many for this evening and leave that for the Everton game.
I'd settle for another 1-0 and no knocks
6 weeks without Kane is really going to give him something to moan about. He'll probably blame ndombele for that too

In reply to Post #3532 Owen was superb , lightning pace ,played alongside my nephew at liverpool boys , at the age of 13 they were playing 3 games a week no wonder he burned out , he actually never got on with robbie and it showed in the final against Arsenal.
And yes we are World Champions.
Another toughie tonight Mal , just on my way down , see kane out for 6 weeks thats a blow for the already crying maureen.

In reply to Post #3529 I think Utd need a proper centre forward like Kane. Rashford and martial both want to come in from the wings rather than through the centre. Thing is that at the moment who's going to go there? They're not going to attract the best players at the moment. Never got the fuss about welbeck to be honest.
They need a new defence as well. And the quicker they ditch pogba the better. He's only half as good as he thinks he is and doesn't deserve the astronomical wage he's on. He's just trouble. I can't imagine there's much respect for him amongst the rest of the squad.
Owen was great. I saw him come on for collymore in his first game down at selhurst when I was living in London (don't tell the cockernees) and he got a massive cheer when he scored. Better than a goal every two games is hardly inconsistent and we did win a treble with him and Fowler in 2001. Think we won 5 trophies that year with the super cup and charity shield. He was never quite the same after his big hamstring injury but still stuck them away. They might not have won the league but both definitely made big impact.
As for others, it's not an easy one. Raul at Madrid? Del piero? Does Messi count? In this country I'd say Kane has been the key player for the spuds. He's home grown isn't he?
Magoo....
