In reply to Post #5062 Some good points.
The other factor is who would take over, I can't think anyone who is free who'd be a good fit.
When Arteta came in he said he wouldn't take any ****, he made his point with Ozil and put Guendouzi out on loan but that's about it. He doesn't seem to make any progress in that department. Or maybe behind the scenes he has tried to put his foot down but maybe its had the wrong effect.

In reply to Post #5061 For a big club to put so much faith in a manager when they are down there is a massive gamble for me. I always go back to Fergie, he was virtually down and out and they stuck by him and he went on to be one of the most successful ever. They seem to have stuck with OGS and weathered the current storm, I think if they can keep the consistency going and keep them in contention of the top four spots they will back them, continually up and down and they will be gone. Arteta has probably got the dream requirement, played for the club and loves the club, not some mercenary like Pep and Jose € so the reality is, there is no better for the club. He has to deliver though. If he can turn it around and get them back up there he stays, I reckon he has got half a dozen games left, dangerously low in the table at the moment. If they stick with him and he can turn it around they might have a master on their hands and the fans would love him
Seems to be most of the bigger clubs over the last few years have brought the big names in and its paid off, hopefully the tide is changing, Lampard, OGS, Arteta, Ex players, massive passion for the club not just their next pay check

In reply to Post #5058 Mourinho is just jealous
If you look at his past managerial roles he makes it is mission to be in conflict with his major rivals, always has

In reply to Post #5058 You don't have to go too far back for Arteta's better moments but it's certainly been a sharp drop.
Maybe he should be given some more time but I wouldn't be surprised if he's gone this time next week after the Wallets and Chelsea matches

In reply to Post #5055 Love it
Mourinho is just jealous. ****in grinch
It won't be long before the spurs fans dislike him as much as the rest of us...
Feel for arteta. He's stuck with a poor squad and his better players aren't enough to carry the rest. I hope they stick with him and give him time to build a team.

In reply to Post #5050 I think you raise a valid point Jeff. Does not really bother me but if I was a gunners fan I would have wanted somebody with the track record myself. LOT of responsibility and a weight on the shoulders at a club like that. It’s his job to sort it out and get them playing though too
