That's nothing mate... i drove from South London, for two hours each way, often twice a week for two years... And it was not even in the stretch anymore! That was wasted effort, and no ones fault.

It's fishing. I've said from the start, well done Nick. I've said it to him, on the internet. He caught the first 50 from the Thames. The only reason we are no longer friends in my head, is what happened after.

Mark

You are the Justin beber/ wannabe of carp angling. Everything that's wrong with what so many of us love.
Yes you have a picture book which many of us envy, but all you have really done is chase others finds.
Pumping out a bait that failed for 6 years after one fish kind of sums it up, then claiming Hellieur stole it from you????...
I'm sure I'll get some sort of egotistical response, but there are 1000s of anglers going out this weekend who will no doubt find your next "magical conquest"
And whoever compared you to either mat or Ken was either drunk or just.......well

Best jon

No I was gullible mate, because I'm actually a nice bloke. I thought we were friends to be honest. Silly me eh. I'd been warned, of course. Anyone who thinks I'm jealous. I would never have caught that fish anyway. But another young local lad named David would have. He was catching fish from the stretch all year. The photo's were seen on insta by all. He was a genuine honest lad, who had a young family and a business. He was fishing around that area all year. Nick came, and never got on me, he got on this lad a bit. They did not like each other really. The lad was not about for a while, and that's when Nick caught the first, and then soon after the biggun. I'd have not caught it anyway, as the bloke from earlier had ensured that I could not get a bank ticket for the club he was the bailiff for. So I could get no where near. Anyone who thinks I was not his friend... He had not spoken to a close mate of his for three years... I spoke to his mate... So I banged their heads together a bit (theoretically), and got them talking again. Would I even bother if I was a ****?

The swim he caught it from, I'd helped him by telling him to move there and leave his big baited spot. He'll tell you. I hope that it was more Sticky, it's his job and way of fishing. But things like that photo on insta, say something else. More like my warnings.

I'd rather be a genuine person mate, if that means these sort of people can get one over on me... Ah well.

and will absolutely not stop until that fish is in his net/ portfolio, and by almost any means.

Like any sponsored big fish angler/sheep really, they need THAT fish capture to be current, and deemed worthy, but like you say, unfortunately by any information seeking/grabbing means possible.

Nick has put up loads of photos on instagram of the posse there that night... I was shown it. I think it had the headline... "No sleep for us that night". I was just down the river. He had sat in my swim all day. That was for me. When it was 'broke'.

Go find the photograph now.

Oh yes, love this one, the certain good anglers that youngsters look up to, and read about these certain people/special captures, and then months or years later, the real circumstances come out, after rubbing shoulders with other anglers that where there at the time.
You know others peoples baiting up jumped on/swim slugs, spied on with bins, truth stretched and rules bent, etc

Please donít take this the wrong way Mark as I believe from your posts, you are a man of integrity. Although I donít know Nick myself, a good few of my angling mates have known him for over thirty years since his late teens.
They have all said that If Nick turned up on any of their special waters, they would discreetly put the shutters down. As they know he actually angles people for info before the angling proper starts. He will get wind of a certain fish, and will absolutely not stop until that fish is in his net/ portfolio, and by almost any means.

So, surely when he first arrived, youíd have imagined how it would unfold?

True.
But I don't think we would ever hear the other side of the story as 'Searcher' Nick is still banned on here, isn't he ?
