I used them a lot when younger and when I returned a few years ago the plum, maple and strawberry smelt just as I remembered.

JBs flavours are the best quality on the market. I love the products. I do think the Ala salar has changed in recent years though.

The Plum & Maple / Maplecream are legendary carp catchers. Stood the test of time as well.

Interesting only just stumbled across this thread ordered my TM1 whilst John was away hauling predatories. Looking forward to giving it a whirl. Have always loved Johns flavours used them for time.

Received the reply from John himself...

"This flavour is a blend of multiple flavour components linked to milk/cream/toffee/caramel and caramelised sugars. It also contains a low level of dark American maple which is pure.
All the components work on their own and are very effective individually. I have blended them together in a critical proportion that makes a unique and incredibly complex attractor package. This is unique.
So, in ONE large egg for hook baits, the inclusion rate should be half of 1ml. In winter when it freezing you could go to 0.75ml."

Right, but usually in hook baits the inclusion rate is much higher.

2ml per 6 eggs is 0.33ml per egg so it's the same (essentially)

On the JB site it is stated:

'Dose rate: For Boilies: 2ml per 6 x large eggs. NB*Reduce single egg dose rates when making hook baits. (Eg: 0.30ml per large egg!). This flavour is very strong!'

Maybe i am to dumb to comprehend this - does this mean, that the recommended inclusion rate in hook baits is lower than in regular boilies?

To roll some when this flavour lands, or not to roll.

surely that's the question Ken?!

I was told that fenugreek acts an odour for carp not a flavour

...but the senses of smell and taste as humans understand them are not so highly defined in carp, where the two senses act in unison through the medium of the lake water.

Very roughly speaking, think of it like this: To smell is to taste: to taste is to smell.

You better start a waiting list, I'd be very interested, a classic combo of old which I gave up on, I used to make my own Fenugreek oil and infused alcohol with success but it stank the place out!

I doubt it if its in a dropper. Try putting it in a cup of warm water it will make it thinner and easier to get out.

British aqua feeds do a maple + flavour based in a fenugreek oleoresin. I have some but am yet to try it. It is supplied in a dropper style bottle but it's too thick to get out without heating it up. Could be similar to what you are describing Matt?

Matt, was a unique product. A superb catcher, especially when it got colder and as you state, Maples with the Fenugreek back notes are far more effective than standard Maple flavours.

Wish I could get that Oleoresin again, caught loads on it.

This TM1 sounds rather good though, be interested in peoples used levels considering JB advises caution with it being so strong

i had a bloke as a customer who worked in the factory where they made that, he sent me some it was bloomin excellent quality.
the maple flavours that have that fenugreek in the background are streets ahead of a normal maple. I might have to get a bottle of this and have a play, sounds like a winter winner to me this.

that's what I thought Matt. That Fenugreek tone, powerful carp attractor.

Geoff had, years ago, a Fenugreek oleoresin, like thick black treacle. Was MEGA but he couldn't secure a source.

interesting one that, i am also keen to know if anyone has used it.
sounds like the old maple flavour that geoff used to get, with the fenugreek undertone - excellent. I believe that the MC nut still has that in, probably one of the reasons it works so well.

Any users of this flavour. JB states a very low inclusion for singles. Has anybody used it at higher levels for singles. Now the waters cooling, its that time of year, fishing singles.

I know this is a very effective flavour, any one using it ?
