In reply to Post #69 Had a fish kill in the last couple of years I’m told
The biggest one went belly up
Not sure how many were lost
It’s still chocker full of carp though
Anyone know how big the catfish go at Imberhorne and rough idea of stock. Thanks
Anyone fished Hedgecourt recently
In reply to Post #60 Iv found people can’t seem to hack more than 24hrs of blanking on there so it’s always cleared out after a day usually Saturday afternoon it’s down to like 4angkers on over past month
Anyone driven past harock or the mill today? Tempted to take a chance tonight 🤔

In reply to Post #59 In broadhurst think the biggest goes mid 30s with 2 back up 30s exact stock I’m not sure of tho. I’ll probably stay away from broadhurst at least till winter when the banks are quieter if it’s a busy as people are saying.
Been told both mill and bh are currently spawning
Recently joined Isfield, have yet to explore the lakes but Broadhurst was on the radar, anyone know what the carp stocks are like and what they go up to?
Haven't asked anyone else, this was my first port of call as saw the thread.
In reply to Post #57 That’s a nice improvement
Thought I’d drop onto harock for the night but there’s a sign in the car park saying carp spawning. Good to see others taking this on board and knowone fishing it. So ended up at firtol just for a overnighter
In reply to Post #55 Would be a bloody nightmare mate 😂😂
In reply to Post #54 Agreed Joe But I’m talking a few years ago prior to Broadhurst being opened up, swim wise
During the winter months Only 3 or 4 would be the norm on a Saturday night
3 rods would have been fine back then
Some places do a 3 rod rule from November and it works
Can you imagine Harrack with a 3 rod rule this time of year 😵
In reply to Post #53 I think the problem is the lakes get so busy and if they did allow 3 rods per angler is just too many lines
In reply to Post #52 2 rods only as Joe said
They would not allow the use of a 3rd When the matter was raised
Because they thought it would encourage the use of a 4th
In reply to Post #51 I believe it’s the same on all waters 2 rods bud
In reply to Post #49 Hello mate just a little bit of information please just joined isfield Waters can you use 3 Rods on Broadhurst Lake Horsted Keynes please Colin
In reply to Post #49 Historically the Bream should be thinking of spawning about Now
The carp-will munch on their efforts
In reply to Post #48 I know mate it’s been like it all the time I’ve fished on Isfield on/off which is over 15yrs now. I’ve left lakes couple hrs after setting up due to fish spawning and people look at you like your mad some people need educating
In reply to Post #47 Sadly they don’t shut the venues If they are spawning
It’s a good idea But needs policing Venue specific it could be done easily
Unfortunately they don’t GAS
They have good Pike on a few venues BUT don’t GAS on the welfare aspect
Too many older people in command who don’t fish anymore
Need to pass on the reins But won’t!!!
In reply to Post #46 Must be spawning then 😂
In reply to Post #45 Only 3 motors in the car park at lunchtime today
In reply to Post #44 That’s about half the swims taken then

In reply to Post #36 I did get the offer to fish Buxted hotel a few years ago when they were starting to clear the larger lake (I think they had a smaller one) do you know who's running it now?
A match club who are anti carp anglers.
Rough banksides, non existent swims, poor bailiffing.
Keep your money.
In reply to Post #32 No not buxted hotel. It’s harrock house. Lovely little lake with fish to around 30lb but some lovely fish in there. I fished it more about 10yrs ago when it was less busy but usually went in winter and had the place to myself always done well on there but anymore than 4 people then don’t bother. I did fish it last October and had a few but just gets too busy
In reply to Post #34 yes riddler
car park was empty i walked up to the lake was only one swim free
never cast a line in the place ,
In reply to Post #33 Do you mean very busy ?
Even when car park is empty ,as kids will be there,
dropped off by mum
Isenhurst outskirts of Heathfield nothing big though
Another small couple of ponds in buxted as well as those listed previously
In reply to Post #32 buxted house , nor busy even when no cars in car park..mums drop them off
In reply to Post #31 Ok cheers Joe, I know the Old Heathfield one's are not my cup of tea, what are the Mayfield and Buxted one's like? Is Buxted the hotel lake?
In reply to Post #30 Nothing down your way mate. If I’m correct the closest would be heathfield mayfield or buxted
In reply to Post #28 Does anyone know how far east their waters go? I live in Hastings, I have an application form poised and ready lol.
In reply to Post #27 It's the proper way of doing things my kids are amazed I still have and use a cheque book, there are various clubs and camp sites I join or book up that only take cheques
In reply to Post #26 Good old SAE
Yes, that pre internet / social media form of communicating with clubs you want to join.

In reply to Post #20 Years ago they had in that area:
Highlands Framfield, Bushmere Blackboys, Fairhazel Uckfield, Barrets Farm Heathfield.
Probably more but those are the ones I can remember.
In reply to Post #20 Not been a member for years mate. But there certainly used to be a few within 5-10miles of there.
In reply to Post #19 Does Isfield have many or any lakes in the Uckfield/Heathfield area?
Ah I see. Used to fish it many years ago, when they first had it. I heard it had few good fish in it 30s etc?

In reply to Post #15 firtoll still o the ticket as the club own the water
In reply to Post #14 Not sure, I dropped that ticket a long time ago.
Do they still have firtoll?
In reply to Post #12 That’s right, Keith was his name. I remember he walked into my swim and I had 3 rods out and a little radio on, he just smiled and asked how I was!
The Firtoll Baliff caught me doing a similar thing and wasn’t so friendly or forgiving! 😂
In reply to Post #10 From memory, I think the head bailiff was Keith Prevett (sp?) and Ray was his sidekick, both nice friendly blokes.
In reply to Post #6 Think they still go to 33 ish
In reply to Post #9 Haha, I was about 12 and I think the steps up to the lake finished me off! I remember catching Tench but no Carp unfortunately.
I used to spend loads of time at the Mill Pond during my school holidays, managed a 20 and a few upper teens too. I remember the bailiff was a really nice bloke who kept it looking great.
I was down in East Grinstead with work a few months ago and had a little look at Wilderness, all of the bottom end is now fenced off.
In reply to Post #8 Yes it was indeed! You lightweight, jumping straight in the sundial swim, it’s the first one you come to lol!
Only joking mate, was a cracking lake about 20 odd years ago when I last fished it. I used to fish for the tench that were in abundance there, with light carp rods and home rolled Tuttis, was great sport.
Enjoyed my time on the Millpond too, had my first ever 20+ carp there!
In reply to Post #7 Was that Buckhurst Lake in Withyham?
I was a kid when I went there but I remember the hike with a seat box and the Sundial swim!
In reply to Post #1 Was a member 25 years ago it as a great little club and had some excellent waters, one was an ornamental lake in someone’s garden half chock a block with lilies. You had to book in advance and park in a public car park then hike to the lake, undergrowth and topography not suitable for a trolley or barrow. Quite surreal fishing at markers that were Roman statues. Only ever saw another angler on close season opening day 😀
In reply to Post #1 Mill Pond in Horstead Keynes is a stunning lake, not sure what’s in there now though.

In reply to Post #4 Hedgecourts ok but definitely not one of there best

In reply to Post #2 On the Isfield ticket? Or the one on the East Grin ticket?

Evening all,
Does anyone have any info on the Isfield angling club waters? There are no details on their website. Not after massive fish, just somewhere peaceful with some nice old carp to aim for.
Do PM me if you would prefer.
Many thanks in advance.
