I have fished Bounty 6 times, over teh last 10 years and have never experienced any issues regarding RATS. The Fishery is clean well maintained and you can be almost certain of a bend in the rod at any time of teh year. A growing population of fish is also evident as I broke my PB on every visit carp and Cats. I would recommend Bounty to anyone as a starter venue for get a first experience of French carp fishing. Learn the ropes and then start to challenge yourself. I return year after year for the peace and quiet during the colder months of Feb or October.

Would like to clear this up. Yes of course we have rodents at Bounty BUT we are not overrun with them.
We are surrounded by farm land and a lot has to do with the crops and the time of year when the farmer harvests as the little critters run for cover (into Bounty land).
BUT when rodents are reported the staff will go and lay poison out.

Having said that many of the reports for rodents turn out to be baby Coypu.

Was at Bounty a couple of weeks ago and there were rats. Caught about 10 per night in traps. Traps in the actual swims on B2.

Where there is anglers theyíll be rats end of, in what numbers depends on how people act at a lake ie baits/ spod mixes all over the floor and food just chucked in the bushes because itís too much hard work to bag it up and dispose

well I'm sorry to say it but a lot of anglers are their own worst enemies leaving bait laying around like maize /spod mix etc spilt when filling bait boats etc and boilies dropped on the ground .Even heard one angler said he'd been feeding
them . Another angler who had obviously left a taint to his reel handles and rat/s chewed the handles off his reels during the night . Remember this all animals have two purposes in life ,, to breed and to eat ,once they find a food source they'll be back ,,, don't feed em .. and hats off to the guys who keep a clean swim , good job done .
But the previous is correct you'll never find a lake that has no rats ,never seen it in 50 odd years of fishing yet .

have a nice day

I cannot believe there is anybody out there ....lake owner or angler who believes a venue is rat free..
I would go as far as saying eradication is impossible and traps and poison pay lipservice only.
The stats say that for every one you see.......there will be 10 others!!!!!......that is a rentokill stat.

Genesis had a few rats too.
Just kept the radio on all night, that kept 'em away.
Didn't work on the bloody Coypu though.
Herds of the buggers but they didn't really bother us.

My daughter Lydia and I were at Genesis early July.
As you say, Eddie seem to be winding down pending the sale but still looked after us okay and the food package was very good.
Got to be honest, whilst we witnessed plenty, (and I do mean PLENTY!), of Coypu running/swimming around, not once did we have a problem with them going for our baits.
No Crayfish problems either, not one....

We initially fished swim 1, but moved down to swim 5 after a day or two because of the heat. It was a bit more sheltered down there. We didn't fish the "no fishing zone" but close to it. Daughter pulled out 3 decent fish, a new pb of 31lb and a 26.5 and 27.5 pair too. Not bad.
It wasn't the runs water we were expecting, but to be fair it was scorching hot all week, which would have had an effect. Only one fish caught during the nights we fished.
I had a smallish Tench out and Liddy had a couple of small Bream. Lucky Liddy!!

The no fishing area only means yo dont sit down there , Eddie pointed out places to try , and said to put one or two rods down there , so the lads doing so were all ok. I only put one rod down there as it was a bit tight .

None of those issues at Bounty and if you like big cats - 100lb + then Bounty is the place for you. I have been five times and loved every trip as the social aspect is second to none in my experience (1664 on tap). There are some absolute minters in there

i came back from genesis last week after spending a week there with my mate.
The owner Eddie is a great chap, but seems to be winding down pending the sale of his lake
food package was superb
But but but... we were plagued by crayfish, many rigs bitten off, we were terrorised by coypu who continually dived for our baits giving screaming runs day and night, the chap next to us caught 2 during the night, something we were not warned about. Eddie said crays were few and far between, my baits and cut of rigs would say different. The coypu were different league, i have never experienced them diving for bait, then popping back to the surface with your rig in their mouth, unbelievable.
Plenty of skimmers to keep you occupied during the night, i even had a roach on twin 18mm bait.
Carp wise, i had 3 for an approx total weight of 20lbs, my mate had 6, averaging 8lbs.
The two chaps the other end caught plenty, but were swerving the no fishing zone where the fish were held up all week by bait boating their rigs etc. TBH, i would have done the same and they caught plenty.
Needless to say, a very disappointing week.

Genesis , lovely looking lake as well. Good showers etc , good for a first visit . Very quiet , and food package . Bait available to save room in car . Not been to Bounty , but it gets a good review from those who have , but have recomended Genesis to friends , and that says it all.

Hi everyone. After the opinions of people that have fished both. Looking to book one of the above for myself a France virgin and my mate who although an experienced pleasure angler has very little proper carp fishing experience. Which would offer us the best chance of having a few with not too demanding feature finding and no casting long range. Oh I should add it would be one of the willow swims on bounty 3. Thanks in advance
