Series 7 drennan do 3 rods in there range i have the middle one . Diawa whisker match reel and
40lb castking braid . Stay away from cheap lures 90% a waste of money. Abu Garcia agitators have a lovely action. I hate to say it but watch how and what the eastern European's do they the masters of lure fishing the guys I meet at linear are good lads and taught me a lot

I have never got on with multipliers, I use a shimano 10000rb and a 10ft wychwood rod. Cost around 100.

Remember to get a 60-90lb braid for it as lures are expensive so it means you can bend the trebles If snagged.

I popped along to the Evesham show at the weekend and had a go at lure fishing loved it. My thinking is during the winter when the carp aren't playing ball to walk the lake stalking for pike. Unfortantly I don't have a clue as to what to purchase! I would like a rod that can handle pike upto low doubles. Budget isnt huge rod reel combo 150 any advice would be most welcome
