In reply to Post #119 Oh brilliant - saves me hunting around in the garage.
Sorry Kieth, didn't want to disturb you with another email!
Cheers,
James.

In reply to Post #122 Yep
In reply to Post #121 A bit like a vastly improved version of the old nash bike chain jobbies. But still have the sensitivity of a regular chain such as a solar hanger?
In reply to Post #120 Does the marine stainless cord act like a chain or like a springer?
Think you mean a Banshee Chord, once in a "U" shape it just become a totally windproof Hanger.

In reply to Post #118 Hi James, I add one or two with your order James FOC
Your not dealing with "D Turpins Tackle"
In reply to Post #115 Bit of a random question - what size are the grub screws?
Have my pod arriving shortly and didn't think to ask. Want to make sure I have a hex driver/key to fit (although I would presume they're a fairly standard size/nothing very unusual)
Cheers,
James.

In reply to Post #116 Cheers Keith,
So mine is now a MK1
Brilliant bit of kit.
In reply to Post #115 There's the "L2" (Leopard 2) now Neil
I’ve got the Titanium Leopard with the grubs rew fittings making it very streamlined. It was a custom build size wise and features the screw tipped banksticks enabling additions such as augers and state stage stand feet to be fitted.
I’ve noticed it doesn’t feature on Keith’s website so I don’t know if it has been discontinued or superseded but it’s a cracking bit of kit.
In reply to Post #112 I'd say you've done well there, I recall waiting a lot longer for my 3 rod Ti Trident Panther Always worth the wait though
Really happy with the merlins, and the pink coloured indicator heads look fantastic on the bank. Very vivid.
I'm now the proud owner of a two rod panther pod Arrived this morning as promised,I'm very impressed can not wait to use it

In reply to Post #109 Yes. Tightened up with a coin and left there.
The the centre shaft is nice and low.
In reply to Post #108 That's how I used mine...
Cross shafts positioned directly above each auger...
Ive never noticed that on my trident. But i thought you always have the centre shaft on the deck?
In reply to Post #105 It didn't bother me on my old trident one bit..
Just extra to carry and setup...
Oh they are bombproof trust me...
In reply to Post #105 I have the trident and having a centre bar does not bother me re indicators. Neither is it unstable whatsoever.
But you'd need to order what you're happy with, all in my opinion of course
In reply to Post #103 Last question (thanks for your help) can anyone give me feedback on post 97 please ie. Is it worth getting 2 center shafts, so the indicators won't touch the middle bar and will it make the pod more stable?
I have been using the merlins for 6 months and they are indeed excellent in all weather.
I was unsure whether to get merlin or banshee as they seemed functionally similar so I asked Keith and he recommended merlin.
In reply to Post #101 Hawks are sublime in the wind...IMO
In reply to Post #101 I've recently converted to the merlin chords from traditional chains, they are brilliant and I fished blustery conditions without a single wind beep first time of using. Look good too! Me (and one of my kids) did manage to damage one (or two ) by pulling on the chord instead of the fitting when removing them from their fitment, so just something to consider if you are a rough arse
These are fitted with the mk1 mag heads in the size that Keith recommends on his website
In reply to Post #100 I was looking at The Banshee.. Do you think the chain is better than a cord, I thought the metal cord would be less likely to move in the wind ?
In reply to Post #99 Four inch hawk chains dude...
In reply to Post #98 What did you attach them wth cord, swinger etc ?
Just gave my new tall boy heads a few nights...
Six fish and were spot on per usual...
In reply to Post #96 "The Trident Tiger is basically a Trident Panther with twin Centre Shafts fitted.
Made to exactly the widths, specifications and build options as a Trident Panther"
Is it worth getting the Tiger so I can avoid the indicators touching the center shaft and will it be more stable?
In reply to Post #92 I have a rare HD trident somewhere. Seriously chunky stainless
In reply to Post #91 Century do a blatant copy.... Looks lovely but pricey at £345 . Think the fella from Custom Angling Solutions was involved with it. I also think he makes the CAS lookalikes via some agreement /arrangement with Keith, but don't quote me on that.
In reply to Post #93 Unscrews mate. so you can leave it all set up. I carry mine in my unhooking mat.
But you could take the alarms off if you like. Very quick to set up
In reply to Post #83 How does the center shaft come off in the Panther, can you leave most of it set up and unscrew the center shaft or do you have to slide it off ? Also would you recommend having the cross shafts the same width front and back?
In reply to Post #91 I've still got some fairly old defiant 2 rod carbon bars and some carbon sticks. They weren't bomb proof like the metal stuff, but God damn they are light and look goooood
In reply to Post #90 Shame, that looks awesome

In reply to Post #83 Oh my. Love my titanium panther, but that carbon one... !!
In reply to Post #83 Droopy rod tips and your alarms aren't 6 inches from your reels. Fail.
In reply to Post #83 I'm having a 2 rod version done, only thing I'm wondering is how will the long bar attach to the buzzbar part as there won't be a central bracket with only 2 rods
Edit:spoken to Keith all sorted
Oooh ... ill play
Trident S Type (Stainless)
Carbon C Type Trident (my favourite all time pod ... will buy another one day)
Panther Titanium
In reply to Post #81 I know. My mate said you could do
Dips 😂.
It's cos it's a 3 rod in truth. However I like the
Space and the extra width gives added
Stability. Tarts be damned 😂

In reply to Post #67 Not sure what it was, maybe just misplaced my email or forgot.Oh well never mind
In reply to Post #65 These things do happen. But im sure it wasn't about it not being a bigger order than a 2 rod pod.
In the past i have had a 2 rod trident made
And a single order of some hawk hangers
He even sent me a reinforced pole for my aqualite when one broke. Wouldnt take any money.
And ive never met the bloke.
In reply to Post #65 OK, you sent PM's, and gave Keith your email address after he requested it and Keith didnt get back you with a price ... so yes I think it is harsh to call him out on it publicly without at least giving him a chance to rectify this with a reminder (telephone call maybe?) .... It isnt ideal customer service but it happens. Having dealt with him a few times I would be very surprised if it was a lack of order value that influenced him.
In reply to Post #64 Read the thread,it was not a single email. We spoke a few times by pm on here then I sent him my email address,Keith replied thanks will get back to you with a price. Its only a two rod pod I wanted so probably not worth the time or effort to make. Its no issue but I have not been rude towards Keith but I'm sure he can fight his own battles if I was
In reply to Post #63 6 posts about it on this thread alone digging him out because you didnt get a response to a single email .... seems harsh to me
In reply to Post #62 Where have I been harsh?I have not been rude about it and I know how busy Keith is so did not want to seem like I was pestering. Is that ok with you
In reply to Post #61 I agree, this seems very harsh on Keith
In reply to Post #60 Maybe it was something simple like losing you email? Personally I would've given it a while and sent a reminder.
In reply to Post #59 Which I did and you said you would get back to me with a price
In reply to Post #58 Hi Jim, no mate they are Spherical Ball Joints (Used on amasses of things) the same ones I used 15 years ago on the Original “River pod” problem was it was all 316 Stainless, you can imagine what it weighed with being so big.
Braders: I don’t do business on a “Forum” if anyone contacts me on here; I ALWAYS ask them to send me an email. I will have asked you to do the same.
In reply to Post #54 Keith, tell me they are not Anti Roll Bar droplinks? That is quality.
In reply to Post #56 Keith replied saying he would get back to me
In reply to Post #55 Why didn't you send a second message just in case something went wrong with the first?
In reply to Post #54 Lucky you,I messaged Keith on here sent my details for him to sort a price then heard nothing again.
In reply to Post #53 I've never had a problem ordering from Keith to be perfectly honest. I've just had some new stuff recently including the titanium river pod kit, lovely that is too! I think when you delve into handmade gear that's not mainstream and mass produced, you need to realise the people have lives outside of making us some tackle! Saying that I've never not had a timely reply, only time I didn't get one actually was when Keith's email address had changed, but the new one was on website, I'd just not looked (and it was a new enquiry).
As for those ugly designs no one wants...
In reply to Post #50 And you can at least get a price on those

Everybody has copied Keith’s mag heads
His are still the best
In reply to Post #48 Really?!
(Defiant Titanium Panther btw )
In reply to Post #47 And custom angling solutions.
Personally I think the korda singlez owes
It to the trident too.
In reply to Post #42 Really? check out the century carbon pod, then.
In reply to Post #42 Yet plenty do copy Keith’s designs.
In reply to Post #42 Take it you've never bought or used Defiant gear!
What a very strange comment!!!
In reply to Post #42 Yet lots of companies have copied Keith’s ideas using cheaper materials making far more inferior products. I’m sure Defiant MPS was the first company to use titanium too.
Ahh Defiant MPS... the company that has a "Hall of Shame" list on their front page, and designs so ugly no one would want to copy them!
In reply to Post #40 I guess the rear ones can stay in the cross shaft
But the front ones will have to be loose. And then their is the three long shafts. So it does take a bit more putting together.
In reply to Post #35 "Additionally it is a little bit of a faff to set up"
Is that setting up the whole thing ?
I was thinking it would be straight forward if I kept the bank sticks all set up.
Don't you just screw the long pole joints in to connect front an back ?
In reply to Post #38 Yeh that would annoy me. Im slow and sweaty setting up and thats with years of getting the quickest stuff.
In reply to Post #23 Yes I've got the compact Fantail. What a great bit of kit.
It does seem a bit 'faffy' if only going for a few hours, especially when first used, but you soon get used to it.
In reply to Post #36
In reply to Post #33 not sure if they make them but they gave them the rights to use the design,if they have the rights etc etc..but it is the same
In reply to Post #23 I'm using a titanium fantail - use it as single sticks mainly but happy with it when I have used it as a pod. Much more versatile than a normal pod and nice to be able to point the rods at the baits.
The only 'issues' I've found is that if the rods are spread too much that the butts hit each other/overlap making it a little difficult to lift into a fish. Additionally it is a little bit of a faff to set up (compared to my old fox x-pod).
In reply to Post #33 Don’t know but they look very similar
In reply to Post #32 The new century pod looks exactly like the custom angling solutions pod, could it be they make the century ones?
In reply to Post #31 And Century have made a ‘carbon’ copy of Keith’s Trident
On another note after a few years not fishing or frequenting the forum ive been catching up on the
Current trends. These korda singlz look like an MPS trident without the centre shaft.
If ive understood the video its a right faff. Pilot holes, digging sticks, undoing that stick and attaching it elsewhere and finally using stabilisers anyway. Sod that.

Had great service when I’ve ordered
In reply to Post #27 Whilst your here Keith....
What's the current waiting times on a pod?
I own one of yours already but the older stainless version and I bought it second hand.
In reply to Post #26 Emails get answered with in 24 hours, been that way for over 20 years unless not near a PC.
Don't see why you should be any different?
In reply to Post #24 I sent Keith details of what I wanted ages ago,he said would get back to me with a price well its never happened. This was months ago
Im still using the original stainless s type. Made a bit wider on the front cross shaft
And quite short sticks. Must b over 15 years and as new.
Wide as its 3 rod but I mostly use 2 and low and stable . Left setup in my unhooking mat
Takes a few seconds to screw in the centre shaft , and your away.
What is the waiting times these days?
I rather fancy a titanium fantail to go with all the other pods I have...
Does anyone use the Fantail?
I had a hobbit pod off Keith a few years back so I know the craftsmanship is second to none I’m just wondering how people are finding the fantail?
In reply to Post #21 not long had my panther titanium turn up.... hell of a wait but well worth it
In reply to Post #14 Ive had Tridents in Stainless and Carbon (still regret selling the carbon version) .... now have the Panther Titanium
In reply to Post #17 Yes extra weights could be added keith does some and other makes wih a 2ba thread would fit
In reply to Post #14 Anyone still use his stuff
Keith looks like your a bit long in the tooth mate :-P
Ti Trident Panther since 1st launched for me, love it
In reply to Post #14 Yep still do. A carbon trident pod and a small pair of his carbon 2 rod bars. Cover everything I need except a tips high situation. Rock solid when set up for locked up fishing. I lost a few of the plastic thumb screws on it several years ago and Keith sent a full set of titanium ones too replace. Don't ever see me changing unless it gets nicked, a titanium fantail would be ordered straight away
In reply to Post #16 "his indicators and the new merlins"
If I buy these, can we add (screw on) extra weights if we need them?
I have been using bobbins with a bit of cord for the last 15 years and would like
something that doesn't flap around in the wind now :0)
In reply to Post #14 yes still use a fair bit of keiths stuff, his indicators and the new merlins which are excellent and still use his titanium banksticks had mine from when he first released them i wouldn't swap them for any other bankstick they are light strong and can get them in most banks

I have the same problem for some reason I can’t access his website.
When you do get through to Keith FFS don’t mention dodgy internet if you are calling on a mobile. By the the time you’ve finished with his rant it will cost you more than the pod!
Only kidding, Keith is spot on with his customers. Don’t forget, he’s got to make the stuff, answer questions, take new orders etc on his own.
You are buying a bespoke hand made article which doesn’t quite fit into today’s instant ‘I Want It NOW’ culture. What you are buying is worth waiting for
Nowt to do with his business personally, just a happy customer with a few years old Leopard pod.

Desperate for a replacement bobbin!
