I caught the cat back in September and it weighed 83lb then, I lost it the year before and this year I hope it stays away from me as I donít think I could go through that again lol.

I had one tench on the carp rods (about 5lb) and we had a couple of hours float fishing and had a rudd a chuck. Nothing of any size but if you stuck at it and fed them off I'm sure the bigger ones would show through.

Some really good rudd in there, a few tench and small perch and pike. My girls have been with me a couple of times and had a bit of fun with the smaller species. Not masses of any but enough to keep the non carper interested and some of the rudd are of a good stamp.

Definitely contains tench - I had one about 4lb, a small Pike (7/8lb maybe) also followed a rig in when I was winding in.

Am there next weekend so I'll let you know once I've been. My plan is to do some float fishing during the day so hopefully I should get a good idea...

Hi just wondering if anyone knows if there are other species in Little Farriers like tench, perch roach etc. Myself and a pal have booked for October and another mate is thinking of coming along and fishing for something other than carp. I spoke to the Carp Society guys who had a stand at the NAS, he said he thought there were tench in there but unsure of anything else.

Thanks Matt, really appreciate the feedback.

Must have been great to see either of those monsters on the bank. Itching to get there now!

Hi Mate -
Interesting few days!
After a slow start my mate had a 27lb Common followed on the last night by a 41-8lb common!!
I finished with the 22 common, a 19 mirror and a real stunner of a mirror at just under 26lb....oh and a massive catfish!!!
The cat completely bottomed by 60lb scales! Ö.after bundling it into the net it was clearly far bigger than my cradle and retainer could safely handle (it was probably close to 6feet in length) so I took a couple of quick pics of it in cradle and put it back. After speaking to the bailiff he said a one of the big ones was weighed accurately at around 83lb in November....our guess is it was the same beast!

The weed is not a problem at the moment - plenty of clear areas and areas of low lying weed that you can present baits on...it may have changed in a few weeks when you go.

The carp spent a lot of time basking in the sun for the last few days which was very frustrating as they were not very interested in feeding during this time.
Matt

Cracking little place but this fish are very cute, they don't seem to be feeding hard.
I've had a 22lb common so far (arrived Wednesday lunchtime).

If you look at the DNA baits Instagram or Facebook page there was a 41 common came out over the weekend.
