Just to give you an idea it is a 5 to 7 foot trough running around the margins then the middle area is raised a foot or so like looking at a medieval field boundary around a flat area of land in saying that the water level should be up a bit as obviously after last years long hot summer it was probably down two feet from its normal level when we fished, all the fish that did show were within a rod length of the banks about the edge of the overhanging trees, its a nice venue nice and quiet left alone to get on with it remember to take a toilet roll for the bio toilet, we made good use of cafe at the end of the road a few mornings especially as it was cold also you have the Tackle den back up the spur road if you need anything.

Good Luck hope you bag a few.

Thanks mate - there are only 2 of us so hopefully we can keep the disturbance down.
Glad to hear the weed seems more manageable - I was thinking it was going to be dinner plates sized spots!

Fished it in November 2018 for 3 nights 4 of us nothing to report I'm afraid because these days I have become better at camping than fishing, it was a cold easterly wind TBF well that's my excuse.
The good news is the weed was practically non existent for the first half off the lake from the gate and not overly desperate for the other half with plenty of clear areas I would imagine it would not be too desperate come April time, given the nature and size of the lake and the way in which it gets fished ie: usually a group of up to four anglers I think the carp are clued up enough to know they are being fished for but given the right conditions are very catch-able, a few showed whilst we were there they were sending out a reasonable enough badooosh to get me out of bed in the dark in the early hours shame we just didn't have anything to show for it.

Can't wait to go!

Lovely lake, me and my friend have got it booked again this year. If your going with a group then itís definitely not the most social of places, because of where the swims are situated. Plus itís very weedy so not avisable to be too far from your rods. The bank to your right when you come in definitely needs a double swim put in or two swims closer together, if they done that it would be perfect. Either way there was no hesitation rebooking for this year, but that might have something to do with settling a score with one of the big cats I lost

We fished it a few years ago, I managed two commons of 28lb but was the only one out of the group who caught. Think there has been some more stock out in since then and even without that think it was just a bit out of sorts the weekend we fished as sometimes people seem to have quite big hits.
