congratulations buddy,

i know the feeling well! only last april i had the session of my lifetime on a very hard water that took everything i had. 2 seasons for 3 fish with a years break inbetween the seasons. than it all came together and i had 6 20lb carp and a smaller one.

it is sessions like the one you had that keep us fishing when all our non fishing friends and family say we are bonkers!

The fishing buzz is like nothing else. good angling. did you put a picture up?

Itís a great feeling to get that monkey off your back. I think you were right not to give up cos Iíve always thought if you do jack it in on a tough water then you might never have the will to go back and fish a water like that again. Confidence is an amazing thing and I bet yours has lifted a just a bit!

Started to use ABS baits about 6 months ago when it was suggested the MC Nut would "do the business". Have stuck with it, but no joy. Read the reviews of the Plan B and thought I'd give it a try.
They have a good range of baits and cover all bases, so will stick with them from here on in.
Going to try the Malarky or Genesis in France later on this year, most probably Genesis.

I've been fishing a notoriously difficult water in Sussex for the past 15 months. In all that time I've had one aborted run, (a couple of weeks ago), and have lost count of the number of hours I have spent there in my quest to catch a fish yet returned home dejected and disappointed.
It's been a bit of a learning curve for me, I've had to alter my tactics slightly and I've listened to advice from the Bailiff (Steve) who has sat with me and discussed various things. He has been willing me to catch a fish as much as I have been willing myself.
This lake has had me questioning everything, from my choice of line, my rigs, my bait, my approach, even my sanity.
Went out yesterday full of hope. Was trying a new bait for the 1st time. What the hell, I'd stuck with the Bailiff's suggestion for the past 6 months with no joy, so in for a penny as they say.
Horrible day weather wise, blowing a gale and raining for the most part. Made it difficult to see any signs of fish movement but I'd noticed that right in the corner of the bay a few larger ripples were coming out during the course of the morning from under a tree. I just knew that there was something mooching about in there, it wasn't the resident ducks causing them.
I managed to get a rig in there without making too much of a disturbance, and sat and waited. Got to about 3.30 and I was beginning to think it was yet another bloody blank. I was just contemplating beginning to pack down as I was wet and miserable.
Suddenly my right hand rod, the one in the bay, sprung into life. I only just heard the bleep of the alarm over the noise of the wind howling in the trees. I'm surprised I remembered what to do it had been so long, but I lifted into it, and felt the initial tug. I was in!! Initially it didn't put up much of a scrap, came out of the corner quite easily, but once it got into open water it took off like a steam train! I'm not normally nervous when I'm playing a fish, but I couldn't help thinking about all the hours that I had spent on this water, and the fear of getting snapped up did enter my head. After about 10 minutes it was in the net! A beautifully scaled 27lb Mirror. Not the biggest fish I have ever caught, but this one means so much to me. Any fish in that lake became a target fish for me, but to make my 1st one this particular one was a bonus. I'm still buzzing over 12 hours later. Steve the Bailiff rushed the full length of the lake to take the pics and congratulate me. He was buzzing just like me. He knows how much time I have spent on that lake, and he had a smile on his face as big as mine!!! Chuffed to bits!! And the bait???? ABS Plan b.
