In reply to Post #19 I'd keep your PAAS ticket jic you join LAC or WAA and don't like them. In my experience the traffic usually goes the other way.

In reply to Post #19 pa, warrington and lymm, they are all similar mate, busy clubs with busy waters, there's not a lot between any of them
|
|
|
In reply to Post #20 If you want to join lymm be quick as they are closing the membership soon.. they may have already done so as they have had a big influx of new members during lockdown...Ive been a member for 8 years or so ....if you want any water specific info give me a PM....

They have some nice waters. But just like PA they can get silly busy and the same problems affect them.
If you're going to take a punt and try one i'd say Lymm is the one to try. They have more water to go at but probably have more members too. If you like a challenge join Warrington and get on Sandiway big.

In reply to Post #18 Does anyone have an update on Warrington angling club or Lymm? I’m a member of PAAS but not overly keen. Wondering if should try one of these. Looking for decent big carp to catch on a few waters.

In reply to Post #17 That's not my experience at all. What lakes did you fish? Was it Sandiway?
|
|
|
In reply to Post #16 Dont bother, all lakes are like a circus, some stupid rules, and alot of very bad mis use of baitboats, better clubs around

Seriously thinking about joining warrington this year myself!

@jhhilton, blimey Nunsmere hey, stunning water. I drive past it every time I go to my syndi which is just up the road and always think what could be in there, it's mega looking
Thanks for the tip re Wrinehill Braders, might give it a go if I ever get out :-( not too far mate, often drive to Baden Hall for a day ticket. There is a water LAC have recently leased (might even be Wrinehill for all I know) which is leased from Sport and Leisure fisheries Ltd IIRC and they stocked it a while ago. I knew about it before LAC got it as I've been fishing with David Rance via Carp Fishers Abroad since the late 90's, would have loved a pre club guesty on it
Worse than it used to be then Welshman, not good! but that's Cheshire fishing for you.

In reply to Post #11 I was a member of WAA in the 90s grey mist was the water to be on then you could get on the bank every weekend no one wanted to fish big sandiway now you have to book on a week in advance to get a swim 😉

In reply to Post #11 Wrinehill holds some stunning fish well worth a try if not too far for you travel mate

In reply to Post #11 Id keep you lymm ticket another year just so you can see what is in nunsmere now they have it.
Looks like it has the potential to be a truly magnificent water if they look after it and stock it right.
As for Warrington AA - Id say they are good as any of the others in the area from what I have herd. Not a member myself but have considered joining in the past.

In reply to Post #4 you're not wrong! I joined WAA as few years back to see 'what was what' having been a member of LAC for many years and always wondering about WAA.
The Mount, hmm, lots of original fish went walkies, get on the 'stacks' and you'll have fun with the newer fish.
Sandiway small, particle to the middle weed, fish in it literally. Sandiway Large, a proper water, big fish of every species if the size doesn't put you off, very hush hush re the bigger fish.
Grey Mist, I didn't enjoy fishing it, freinds rotating swims, bait boats from far margins to 20 yards down your bank, not my thing! though the may be worth it just for the Tench!
Cicely, the Big Common obv, if it's still in there, nice water gets very busy and I had issues with poachers.
I re joined Lymm last year, did a tour of the waters but haven't fished any yet, perhaps I should have left fond memories where they lay. Belmont, nothing like it used to be, same with Village and Whitley, Antrobus, more line in the trees than leaves :-( looks like the clubs been neglecting the waters I visited for some time, though I believe things are on the 'up' and there was a fair bit of work on village to their credit.

In reply to Post #9 A deep water the mount has got great potential ,best out to my knowledge is a low 20 .
For me though resent stocking of all the other lakes doesn't show much commitment to the lake as club don't own it and for me in the right hands the lake needs alot of work doing.
Like Andy said good for few runs , fortunately I just got myself a syndicate lake next year so might not be rejoining .

In reply to Post #8 unfortunately it will never be what it was, just take it for what it is...a bend in the rod.

In reply to Post #7 Nice one Andy
Doesn’t sound like it will ever recover . Be interesting to see what happens in the next 5 years

In reply to Post #6 loads of pasties coming out, I think they we're in the church pond for so long tbey won't grow on at all, the fish they put in from the ocean in winsford are creeping up slowly...not many upper doubles but plenty of lower doubles. the old originals are few and far between but I have t put a lot of time in, just use it as a runs water for my lad to cut his teeth on. he enjoys it.

In reply to Post #5 The mount is 5 minutes walk from my house . I haven’t fished it for years . What’s the biggest that has been out in the last year ? Are there any fish coming through in there yet ?

In reply to Post #1 I've done a fair bit on the mount this year a lot of small carp with poor mouths good place for a few runs in winter ,grey mist is probably the next easiest and with some new stock gone in . Sandiway big lake is hard going full of weed some big carp in there small lake also very weedy the track between is a mud bath in winter .

In reply to Post #3 sandiway lakes
welcome to the ratrace

In reply to Post #2 Thanks Andy. Will give them a try in the new year to get a bend in the rod. Always good to get a fish under your belt on a new ticket before moving onto other waters.
Will be giving sandiway lakes a good go after the winter

In reply to Post #1 Appleton is ok through the winter months, the mount is full of fish, a lot of them are a scabby but will give you a bend in the rod. they're just the two I've fished in the winter.

Can anyone give me any information on any of their waters. Looking to join for next year.
Which of their waters would suit an early campaign on next year? Fishes okay in the winter months?
