Could anyone who's been please confirm the luggage requirement. It states 1xrucksack and 1x holdall for clothes. I guess the rucksack goes in the bus/trailor and the holdall in the bus overhead. Is it ok taking a narrow bag in lieu of the large rucksack and a small rucksack with clothing?.

If you take your own bait you canít use their freezer. If you order your bait from them they will let you store it in their freezers and let you take it out 5kg+ at a time I think it was? Might be 10kg

We got back yesterday from Crete lakes. It was a really tough week we were on lake 5 peg 38 and 39 my brother inlaw had two on the last evening of our trip. I didnt have a single bite all week the fish were in the deep water at the top of the lake but not really feeding. Most of the people struggled to catch on all lakes with only a handful of fish being caught on the whole complex. I can only assume that the amount of bait used in the match coupled with the really cold snap that happened the day before we arrived and the first two days of our trip put the fish off of feeding. Still it would be a really boring pastime if you caught every time you went fishing. Out of 12 trips to various venues in france over the years this was my first blank session. Roll on 2019 for the next adventure

match there this week, lake 2 has produced over 2000lb of carp for one pair and that was by the Wednesday! believe second place there were on over 1500lb, look at peg numbers the top 5 teams are all on different lakes. But showing how it fishes, the lowest weight was 21lb by one team, fish shoal up and wont move if they have bait! your on them your on them!!!

Sorry for the late reply but I stopped getting alerts for some reason. Lakes 1 and 2 fished the worse. Bait wise there own bait caught the most while I was there. Myfish were caught on Essential baits Crete seed. This week itís the annual match so I think theyíll be getting plenty of snap !

Hi Stax, glad to hear you enjoyed your trip. I go this Friday which will be my 7th trip so I have a fair idea of how it works there.
If you dont mind me asking, which of the lakes fished the hardest, they are greedy pigs normally so I'm thinking they should be ready for a good munch by the time we are there.

Draw is very fair! your either booked in as a group or as a billy no mates, first name out chooses a swim, if that person is a group then you choose swims for each person in that group. Generally lets you fish together as a social.
Only one name for the group is in the draw so you get the same chance as coming out as the singleton!!!!

certainly a lot better than being sent a number in post with the lake your on.

Yes tough if your last out , but again depends how many are actually on the trip.

There are 7 swims on lake 2 (4 on one side 3 on the other) but by the time we got to choose our swims we were suprised 5 of them were still free so we decided to go on the side with 3 swims on and my mate fished opposite someone and me and he other person fished diagnally opposite corners, the fish were held up in the corner to my mates left and he nicked a couple from there u til someone moved in there. On the Monday 2 people filled up the bank opposite us but that just made the fish move around as everyone seemed to be catching.

Lake 2 seems to be overlooked and I think itís because itís quite weedy but we never had any problems with it. Lake 1 has the bigger fish in with a couple of 70ís but lake 2 has the most amount of 50ís in it. The most popular lakes that filled up quickly in the draw were 1,3 and 5

Think we were ball number 18 and came out 14th in the draw with only 2 balls left to be drawn Out of the 40 anglers we were 34/35. We spoke to a bloke while we were waiting as we couldnít be bothered to walk round because we knew all the good swims would be gone. He said last year he came out dead last and had the best week heís ever had, he just looked at the map where everyone was fishing and picked a quiet corner on one of the lakes

Bob the draw seems unusual but hay ho. We are number 6 😎 Yes a few had said fish crumb so thanks for that. Everyone tells me to get on peg 3 or 10 which ain't no good as I'm fishing alone as doubt anyone could put up with me Dave did very well with his 9 x 50s.

Got back Saturday, ended up in 11 and my mate in 12. Had 11 fish and my mate had 6. They love boilie crumb and I went through 30kg and I wasn't heavy baiting

Wasn't keen on how the draw works but once we were settled and the week went on we enjoyed it more and more. Seems the fish come from all over the complex but a lot of people moved off lake 5 within a day or 2. I'd go back there
