Does this venue have an otter fence,or plans for one..?

These day's I wouldn't consider paying any money up front, particularly in the southwest unless an otter fence was in situ..

We have one or two places around here that are fenced and have carp in ,to rival anywhere else in the UK..however,even though it's cheap for up,country it's expensive for the appalling wages in Cornwall and Devon, also gravel swims with swim names on boards, absolutely everything that I detest with carp fishing..

I get asked, open your lake and trout stream..to the gp,....judging by what I see on other venues and the village lakes my son works on I'd sooner pull my toenails out with a leatherman..

If you fish it 100 days out of the year then its 12 quid a day, so depending on the enjoyment level and amount you will fish it might work out for you. Personally I wouldnt pay that unless there were 40+'s in there

At that sorta money it's all about what you get for it for me, big pretty fish empty banks pretty venue few facilities and I'd pay that.
Other than that it wouldn't be worth it for me

Well said

We discussed putting our lake at 800 a year for ten people which covers the costs and gives a nice quiet place to go with good fish.
But then you lose something in the place not getting uses Alot aswell

Choices

People will pay it, it's so popular now. I wouldn't for one reason from reading the first post and one word somes these places up for me, character, absolutely none by the sounds of it never mind the 1200 for the pleasure of it

I tend to agree with you, although my salmon n seatrout fishing at 50 quid a year works out loads cheaper than a weekend carp fishing.

I'd expect a velux open style bivvy thrown in for that much.

was about to say the same

I don't know why more people don't join clubs

Plenty of great clubs about with varied waters and most are about 100 a year .... Could join 3 clubs and probably never
get to fish all the waters they have ?

For a lake that holds mid twentys there's tonnes of clubs that you would pay around 100 for and hardly ever see anyone else.

Its the same as 4 nights a month on a day ticket at 25 a time. Peace and quiet versus busy i suppose.

If I had the time to join Wellington or kingsmead/Horton complex I'd also have no issues with the 2k ticket price not 1200 for a newly dug hole though

If people are daft enough to pay it then the owner has it dead right, for him/her.
Personally I think that 1200 for just about any ticket is madness, I would happily pay good money to fish a beautiful water, holding cracking fish (size almost irrelevant) and with a small membership.
