I now have two waters, both are free to me,and whoever I decide to take as a guest..

My third water, most likely the best place,i have seen, let alone fished, decent members, fully otter fenced..in amazing surroundings, cost 55,it was,is,a total privilege to be even considered a member...

So my angling cost is bit of bait, food, little fuel usage, rod license...is all I'll spend this year.

It all depends on your time. I manage 3-4 trips a year so would never pay more than 250 for a ticket as anymore and Id just have 3-4 sessions somewhere like sandhurst.

I pay 525.00 for a syndicate of 2 lakes. Have a lake to myself most trips. Fish to just over 40lb. It was 350, 11 years when I was first a member.

Next seasons club has two venues, one is very quiet and the club ticket is 120 quid.

I'd agree with that statement and add that the things I would value may not be the the things that the next bloke values. To each his own.
Its a huge amount of money but I would pay it for the right water, one that's quiet, few members, undamaged & great looking fish.

Imo any syndi is worth exactly what an angler is willing to pay.

I had a water lined up for this year, paid 650 18 months in advance. Then shortly before the ticket starts I got a message saying price had gone up to 1100 lol. The water in question is not worth that imo, for various reasons. So I'm out.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't pay 1100 for other waters though.

Most i have ever paid for a ticket was 1,400. Big well known pit in Cambs that was a lovely place to fish with some proper lumps, however, taking into account it closed for 2 months in the summer and fished poorly through winter i was really paying for 6 months fishing.....throw in the rules that banned zigs and you were pissing in the wind most of the time in the warmer months fishing in depths of up to 40ft when the fish were in the upper layers....

For me it's all about what you perceive as value for money.

Unfortunately greed is rife in carp fishing now from ticket prices to the Carp tax we pay on gear. but if there's a market for it then it will only continue.

Welly is now 2100 I believe
My old water was 2500
Dropped it as I couldnt warrant the money
As I was fishing less every year or Id rejoin tomorrow.
Now on a 600 a year ticket where I probably manage 10 nights a year.

That does seem a bit much for me, there is 2 syndicates around my area

1 that is 200 a year with the carp going to low 30s
2 this one is 800 a year but has at least one 50, a few 40s and alot of smaller 30s and 20s

A friend of mine has a syndicate up near Portsmouth way that he pays 300 a year and has a couple 40s in it, no way would I pay 1200 year for that sort of lake, I could see the appeal if it was absolutely stunning with features but not if it's a featureless bowl.

Only if you catch one, which can be a very rare event as it is not as if you are fishing a water that gets stocked ...
