Go down to your local anglers direct n play with some rods. If they don't have in store but on the website they will order in for you . Also you can then try different reels on different rods to find that perfect balance

Brennan do a 2 piece 12 foot carp march rod for about 50 -80 quid very light and more than capable of handling decent fish. I love mine as it's 2 piece and always made upin the carp rod bag ;-)

Maybe a nice Hardy matchmaker,or Bruce n Walker ctm..lovely glass rods...

A lot of people forget how light and nice to fish with these rods, cutting edge gear at the time..

I've got the Korum 11ft CS Float and love it. Little bit undergunned for anything more than low double carp but have landed fish up to 19lb 8oz on it, just a bit hairy a times!

I've got a korum 13ft float rod and it is very good. I personally prefer a stiffer float rod though so use a barbel road

Drennan Series 7 Tench Float rod, as already recommended.

I have a Korum barbel rod. It's the single tip 1.75 t.c and is superb. They do a twin tip version and I'd say it's definitely worth looking at.

You'd be looking at getting both those rods for your money with a few quid left for bait.

I tend to see what drennan do in the price range, I don't think they make a bad rod.

The series7 tench float might be up your street. A very versatile rod I don't use nearly as much as I should

Hi all,

I hope you are all well and for those that dabble in it, managed to get in some tenching before the spawn!

I have had the misfortune of having a rod break on me, my beloved Korum Precision Float. It was such a lovely rod to hold, light, looked great, had silvers, double figure carp on it and numerous big tench.

Was in contact with Fosters re spare top sections but unfortunately its not made any more :( So I have decided to take the plunge and sell a couple of my carp rods on the classified in order to replace.

I already need a second coarse rod, maybe a feeder with two tops (to include an Avon section) so am looking for advise for the best option to replace my Korum, and in addition a feeder/avon rod and a reel (or two) to boot.

The main thing is replacing that korum, getting something near to it would be nice. My Shimmy Exage spin rod is a beautiful blank for 35, maybe they do a decent cheap range? Shakey Mach 2's are nice, any others?

I am hoping to get a bundle somewhere but haven't seen too much (erics, fosters, chapmans, gerrys, etc etc). Looking at spending maybe 150 ish.

Any advice/recommendations?

Cheers
