Only been once a few years ago and would thoroughly recommend it. The place is well run and the fishing is good just don't go piling it in 1st day and ruining your chances! It's not a big lake so fishing for a bite at a time is probably your best bet and listen to what Dave tells you and you won't go far wrong. Also the food is amazing, proper home cooked food you will definatley not starve

I've been twice. Food is great, but fishing can be slow - too slow for my liking. To the right of the island in the shadows always does well as does the left hand margin.

Put a few tight lines at the back of the island to try and keep them from holding up there.

IMO there are better lakes out there as the fish are not huge and the fishing tends to be slow.

Good luck.

It is a fairly small water so not too much disturbance, set your bivvies back a bit from the waters edge and don't stamp around too much. Use the lake bait on at least two rods. The big grass carp like a bit of particle and maize.

Take on board Dave's advice. He wants you to catch.

Do get the food package, it is very, very good.

Have a great trip.

I have been to Windmill Lakes a few times and would strongly recommend it. It is a beautiful smallish lake with an island and a good head of carp to 50s. Perfect for four anglers.

Dave and Sue are great, very helpful but not intrusive. The food is very, very good.
