I'd love to turn my hand to Barbel, very nice fish chaps
I used to be on a Carp syndi and they had/have a lovely stretch of the Trent with some very big Barbel and Perch in it (at that time)...one of my regrets, never trying it.

Would that be the Barbel Societies section at Sutton on Trent? Proper fishing mate! Though I would warn you it tends to get very busy on opening day. If you need any tips let me know.

Best bet for you Gerry would be straight down the m4 to the clubs or day ticket stretches of the Kennet. Or I dare say it... the colnes on your doorstep???
