We have been contacted by Surrey Police. They executed a search warrant in Tandridge, Surrey (covers the areas of Caterham, Warlingham, Oxted, Dormansland, Lingfield, Godstone, Bletchingley and Nutfield) and have seized a number of fishing items they believe stolen. They believe they have been stolen from the Tandridge area
Most of the equipment is middle of the range but they have also recovered some expensive rods and reels, suggesting itís a serious carp fisherman who has had property stolen

Some of the property recovered includes:
Green Monster Carp carryall bag
Schliesing baseball cap
Crafty Catcher plastic box with boilies, boilie crusher and ESP headtorch
Cobra throwing stick
Cooking set
X3 bite alarms on stainless steel buzz bar (separate x1 bite alarm in the bag)
X2 bed chairs Ė different makes
Fox tackle bucket
Tea making kit
Umbrella
ESP green zip up bag
Nash rod
Whisper rod

X3 rods and reels in Green Sonik XTR rod bag Ė these rods are the expensive ones. They havenít given a make so a potential loser can ID them

Not all the items have been listed so again a potential loser can ID them

If you think any of the property is yours please contact Vicky Seymour on victoria.seymour@surrey.pnn.police.uk with the following information:

Quote Carp Forum Ref 45160042178

1) Was the crime reported to police? Have you got a crime number?
2) Where was it stolen from?
3) What property do you think is yours?
4) Was it marked in anyway? Did it have a serial number?

Thanks

Vicky

Yep, great system, we found out about it 10 odd years ago when we got into motorbikes. It's a microdot system in varnish, just paint a small amount on in a area a thief is less likely to look. The kits also come with a couple small id chips (like animal ones) about the size of a grain of rice, put them anywhere you want.

What about DATATAG

https://datatag.co.uk/PDFs/Datatag_System_Product_Price_Guide.pdf

The small tool system i wonder if stickers could go under reel seat and other items marked with UV paint

What would you suggest? UK paint pens could wash off I'd fear. Personal marks when being built vould be removed or whipped over. Keep receipts and take pictures perhaps? Genuine question.

As an ex Cop I have been in this situation hundreds of times, you execute a search Warrant and seize property you suspect is stolen. As a Police Officer you now have to prove the items you recovered are stolen property.

So unless these items of tackle are marked in some way then one bite alarm is the same as any other. They may be the same as the ones you had stolen , but that's not good enough, you need to prove that item or items of tackle are yours. If not they will be returned to the person they were seized from.

So guys mark your tackle in some way or you could end up having your gear seized but then given back to the person it was seized from.

Bloody good of them to get in contact. Reaching a huge audience here & even if the items don't belong to anyone here someone might know who's they are. Well done.
