Hi Guys,

I have won a 48 hour session on Viginia Water 1st June 2018.

Anyone got any tips/ pointers to help try land a carp....

I know location is vital especially as I have never fished a lake this size...

Any areas of interest this times of year?

Cheers

Good Luck! It's a beautiful water with, I'm sure, some secrets.

I would love to keep up to date with what comes out (by PM if necessary) even though it's unlikely I will ever fish VW again.

Should have popped over and said hello!

That was me and my mate.

Down there most weekends. if you see two people fishing close with bikes and trailers come pop over.

In my experience the fish on the main lake would rarely show (as in head and shoulder).

We always thought that this was one of the reasons it wasn't heavily fished, lots of people walk around it and I'm pretty sure of the fish showed a lot the many more would have tried to catch them!

Fished the A30 end 3/4 years ago on the first day of the season. Bailiff came round at about 10 am and confirmed we were the only two on the lake. A short while later 2 bream anglers turned up. After a brief chat they set up right next to us and one of them proceeded to cast over my line! He then came out with the classic 'you've got caught up with my line mate!'

Sadly you even get idiots on VW, not now obviously, not at £1,000!

But eagerly want to meet the others.
