loved the place growing up... caught my first carp out of pit 1... back when it used to have the snaggy back bay and Paul was running the place.

still some lovely carp in there from what I heard... i'd choose Twynersh over Thorpe Lea any day.

I can see the new owners are doing a lot of work on the place, but as per the comments below, I personally wouldn't.

The ticket is very expensive for what you get, about £500 or there about but I believe around 75 members. Only 2 of the waters are members only (pits 3 and 4) covering a total of 7 acres!!! As you can see, won't take much to get rammed. Yes you have access to the other lakes, but so do all the day ticket anglers, of which there can be a lot. From a carp perspective, only pits 3 and 4 are really worth it (2 has a few decent ones in there, but is the busiest lake for day ticket anglers).

As said below, pit 4 used to be brilliant, almost untouched. Its been ruined (not by current owners I should say). The previous owner couldn't leave the place alone.

If there were (a lot) less members I'd say go for it, but its not worth that money. They can't seem to decide if they are day ticket or exclusive - and the 'syndicate' is simply not worth it. Worth a punt on pit 2 day ticket.

And Yes, barbless only....they are oddly fixated on this!

Just make sure you use "Barbless hooks" not crushed barbs. There's a difference apparently.. . There **** hot on it at the moment down there. oh and no partying, they don't like it. Other than that I quite like it down there.

I’d keep away personally, the last owners ****ed pit four which was probably the most enjoyable lake on the complex.

Split up 6/7 and filled it with stockies, match lake was ruined years ago when they took the larger fish out and filled it with little ones although they’ve grown on to doubles now.

Pit two has some nice fish in although can be a proper moody water, most fish mid to upper doubles with a fair few 20’s and handful of 30’s.

Pit one hasn’t changed, nice lake.

Pit three is the best lake with some lovely fish in, not too hard to catch, just busy and weedy.

For the money they want with all the works and what’s gone on down there by the time they finish all the work they’re planning the ticket cost will go up or they’ll cram more tickets when it was always busy enough as it was.

Much better lakes near by.
