In reply to Post #7 I have two places booked for 1st to 8th of April 2017 which I may have to cancel.
If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll let you know as soon as I know which will be within the next month.
All I want is the extortionate deposit of £20 I paid to reserve the dates and I'll sort out the paperwork.

In reply to Post #6 Their 'sister' lake Cedars is okay. Had fish to 50+ .
Great facilities. Hut's behind the swims with power, cooking, full height fridge freezers, 2 single beds. Running water onsite.
Not a big lake. I'd call it a runs water if you happen to be fishing the bank opposite the house as this produced best. Had nearly thirty fish the first year we went and nearly the same the second year upto 50+.
You still need to find the spots though....

In reply to Post #4 That's very helpful thanks for taking to time to reply, I'll do the searches. A group of 8 of us have been on Mar Peche for the last few years but now it's time for a change, as far as I am aware I think Island lake is not far away so know the drive is fairly easy just wanted to check it's recommended.
Now it's just a matter of trying to get a booking as not on FB. Cheers

In reply to Post #1 there are a few threads on here that are a bit older about the lake which are worth searching for. i've been quite a few times (also have 2016 and 2017 trips booked) but as said below its quite booked up now (not sure 2018 books is open yet). its about 230 miles away from Calais, easy driving too. Its not the easiest of waters but when you catch one there's a very good chance will be a lump. there isn't much under 30lb in there. check their facebook page for weekly updates of catches
off the top of my head:
plus points
a lot of big fish to 90lb. wouldn't like to guess how many 50+ but there's a lot. good number of 60s too.
Use of a boat all week to (one in each swim)
each swim has a weigh station and mats and floatation slings are provided.
cabins behind the pegs with fridge freezers and UK electric points in
drive right round the lake and park behind your peg
supermarket 5/10 minutes away
2 decent shower blocks / toilets round the lake
decent pizza restaurant 5 mins away if you fancy an evening out
minus points.
well there are very few. there is no drinking water on site, but just buy the big 5L bottles from the supermarket or fill up form the petrol station up the road.
I cant really knock the place. I think ive been there 5 times now and will keep going back!

In reply to Post #1 Better be quick Graham as I booked 3 years ago to be able to fish it in April next year.I think there's only availability for November 2016/2017 ...Looks an amazing water and going off their catch reports plenty of 50's and bigger coming out.
Best of luck getting the week your after unless your booking for 2018 then you "might" still have a good selection.

A group of us are looking to book this venue but before doing so I just thought I'd ask if anyone has any experiences of the lake either good or bad?
Thanks in advance!
