In reply to Post #171 if there are only 3 of you don't be afraid to move about. I've not fished it since the new owners took over but they certainly used to move about and find the areas with fewer lines
reckon i've done 8/9 trips since 2011-2019 and have fished all of the "old" pegs (except 12 weirdly lol). Peg 13 out fished the rest on all but 1 trip I think...

In reply to Post #169 'Thought I would better reply before the game'
Yes you are right that was/is the plan but not sure if it has been actioned. As i said, swim 9 has been cleared in readiness and several of the cabins have been renovated including raising the dreaded low door frames. 3/4 will be the new home of Mick and Deb as it receives the most sun!!! Agree with you about 12. Being a bit of a preperation freak i always went through the prior years catch reports and listed numbers of fish by swim. 12 always came out on top however it is more of a numbers game in that swim and doesn't do lumps as often as some of the other swims. I've had the same fish twice in a week from there and believe the bay holds resident fish. Many of the snags have been removed over the years so it's not quite as prolific. From over 25 fish in several weeks in 12 the biggest fish i had from there was 58lb which is not to be sniffed at but not huge by Island standards. 12 just pretty much guarantees action at some stage during the week. Interesting how 7 has gone down hill over the last few years. It was up there with 12 but has fallen behind several other swims. Still does it's share but not the swim of old.

In reply to Post #163 Thought I would better reply before the game
I was there in October and peg 9 was going to be a new double, 7&8 were going, 3&4 going (I think) so 2 and 5 has more space, or at least that was my understanding. 10&11 going as well to accommodate the new double in 9.
Just wondered how far they got as due back out this May time. Think the idea is more double swims so you have someone on hand to help with the fish, assumes you catch of course. Tricky water for sure.
To #160 - peg 12 is not always the best peg in my experience although the most popular.

In reply to Post #165 I believe he means the spit in front of 12 that runs from directly in front of you to the right into the bay.

In reply to Post #160 Peg 12 is definitely the "Best" peg on the whole lake.
I have done a April trip and a July trip.
April trip I was in peg 10 and blanked, didn't see a fish in my peg all week.
My mate was in 12 and caught the most fish out of everyone.
July trip I was in Peg 12 and caught the majority of the fish for the week including a 65......
Fishing 2 rods towards the far margin and one to open water.
We was using shrink wrap due to the crays but this was 4 years a go and I think the cray situation has improved.
Nice lake but can be challenging especially in March.
April trip Peg 12 fished very well then peg 13 and finally 7+8.
All the best 👍

In reply to Post #162 When i went last in July the swims were as normal and i understand they still are. The area in 9 has been cleared but that's it and some work in 2 and 5. There is a nice new toilet and shower block installed by the gate too. There's no swim 14 for thise that would remember it.
P.s See you Sunday

In reply to Post #161 8 times, blimey that’s impressive. Putting our football differences to one side 😉, has the work on the new swims ( close 7/8 open new swim 9) taken place do you know ? Was a few other swims going to be closed or opened but I lost track. Thanks.

In reply to Post #160 Paul has done alot of work on the lake and introduced some fresh fish to an already impressive stock. The crayfish are there but well managed so it's hit and miss on spots. The Korda shrink wrap criss crossed is all you need even on pop ups just to be sure. I've fished the lake 8 times in various swims from April to September with fish to 70lb so if anyone wants to PM me i'll do my best to help. Top venue and facilities.
