In reply to Post #227 Anyone use the shelter version. User opinions?
This is an old thread. My Bloxx is still in use some 4 or 5 years after I got it. The velcro is still OK on the peak (I haven't shortened the poles either).
It doesn't leak. It has faded a bit but it does spend a lot of time outside.
Worst issue was mouse damage on the front which I got repaired - not a fault though is it?
Take the front off of it and it is solid.
It has been superb.

In reply to Post #229 Yeah it doesn't really need the storm poles

In reply to Post #228 I’d be looking at just the shelter no zip in panel. Is it quite stable even without the front panel

In reply to Post #227 I got the compact bloxx version 2 bivvy in the sales.
It was this one or the wychwood tactical, only reason I didn't get the tactical was it didn't have multiple front pegging points. So if your swim isn't level you would have problems pegging it down properly.
For the price I cant complain, I needed vents and a zip in panel.
It's well made but fairly compact (bedchair just off the sides and very little room at the front) but better head room compared to my v2.
I've got the wrap which makes it a nice size due to the front porch.
For a shelter which you've asked about I would recommend it, doesn't weight much and it's a nice pack down length compared to say a brolly.

In reply to Post #225 Resurrected again lol, Can anyone tell me if there is much of a difference from the Mk1 Bloxx Compact bivvy to the 2G version? Cheers

In reply to Post #223 Cheers Guys
I'm hoping it will be a reasonably quick and light(ish) weight shelter. It will only be single night trips as I have other bivvies for longer sessions.

In reply to Post #223 same
Mine was ridiculous to tighten the peak on but that's where the fix comes into play and is alot better now

In reply to Post #222 If anything like mine, 1st time up it will feel f**king tight! You'll wonder if you're doing something wrong lol
Don't worry about it too much though, it gets far easier the more you put it up & down

In reply to Post #221 I've taken a punt and just bought the bloxx 2g compact. Comes with the skull cap thing, but not sure how much use that will be? Should arrive tomorrow and I'm planning on fishing tomorrow night so hopefully will give it a try out. I will scan back through this thread on best ways to put it up.

In reply to Post #219 Can't say I have ever seen one in a tackle shop
I will be taking pics of mine in the next few days anyway, if needed can send over to show you the size of the non compact

In reply to Post #218 Cheers Guys - I really need to try and get to see one. Not sure if any tackle shops have one set up?

In reply to Post #216 I have the standard original bloxx and it is pretty good. Height wise I am 5f 8 and there is plently of space, it is quite a tall bivvy compared to the tempest/hide's etc so you will be fine
Does not slope back to much either, its not dead flat at the back but its alright, leave a little room at the back but its about the same as my tempest does also
p.s - mine is for sale in the ad's section with overwrap

In reply to Post #216 I have the original Bloxx Compact, brochure height for that is 1.35cm but it is plenty high enough for me at 6 foot. It doesn't slope backwards significantly due to the design (ie it is quite flat backed).
I'd actually say it feels higher than average once sat inside, but guess it could depend on the bed you use etc...
