In reply to Post #7 It's being tried on in North Hertfordshire as well!, you may well find soon one big congested concrete sprawl from Welwyn garden city, Stevenage to Letchworth all over green belt land like a nasty rash.

In reply to Post #8 The debenture is not worth the paper it's written on to be honest......
If dave decided to sell the whole complex then as debenture holders you would all receive £2000..... And no where to fish........
I suspect dave would go bankrupt though and owe nothing to anybody.......

In reply to Post #7 Do we have any idea how it leaves the debenture holders?

creating country parks and visitor centers seem to be a common trend with developers, like waving a big carrot of conservation to make up for building an ugly housing estate or retail park in a place that it really wasn't wanted..
Its also part of the portfolio for Rushden Lakes on the Nene Valley, apart from removing the remains of the old ski club and building a highly contested retail park the jersey based investment company seem to think managed access to an SSI will give them that extra green factor along with their (20 year) prediction of creating 2000 jobs.
And it would appear that greenbelt land is being targeted for housing development on the Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire border the promise of reserved areas and open access to soften the blow.
When this sort of thing goes ahead it just shows that the restraints put upon land owners to stop development in the past doesn't seem to apply. IMO under the guise of housing and jobs the big money is heading somewhere with a lower rate of tax.

In reply to Post #4 I have heard that he is looking to give up the land including lakes on the Wolverton road side of the river which would make sense as they are talking about a country park. It would be nice to see the plans to know where we stand.

Don't u believe it. In kings Lynn, Norfolk they have built all over a flood plain. Even the sainsburys has started to sink! No where is safe

In reply to Post #1 I had heard about Dave trying to sell the carpark area where the heron lake is as they also want to extend the tackle shop, remember they are flood planes so building would be difficult over the whole site, I was told about this by the fella in the tackle shop so should be some truth in it, still building in the carpark is not great news as it has already become a little unsafe over that area by rocla and red house lakes.
