Quiet a few years ago I I usually fished the clone valley lakes but was looking for something a closer to home,
After reading about Linford I decided to have a look round.
I parked on a lane and took a public footpath through the lakes as I wanted to see the lakes.
After 5-10 minutes I was approached by a guy who arrived on a quad bike in a threatening manner,
He literally jumped of his quad bike, grabbed a shotgun and Pointed it towards my face shouting what am I doing on his land, as I tried to explain I was just following a public footpath and my reasons for being there
He screamed “ I Don’t give a F@uk why you are here, get off my land or they will have to carry you off”
As you can imagine me and my 10 year old son where terrified and left,
Only now I have come to realise it was this convicted thug Dave Marle
As you can guess I have bever been back since.
It’s a small world and I just hope this lunatic gets everything he deserves,

In reply to Post #51 GLL will cease to exist. The debentures will be worthless unless you keep it for yourself.
Thats why they are being sold so cheap.

In reply to Post #50 In theory it ended when all 750 debentures where sold so GLL would need to buy them back and tear them up for the debenture to cease.
All I know is in 976 years time ill get my initial investment back

In reply to Post #49 I believe the debenture system is ending. Current debenture holders will remain members of the new club providing they pay the yearly membership fee. The rental of debentures will also be stopped. This is only what I've heard so it's not 100%

In reply to Post #35 If anyone has any updates on what's going on at Great Linford lakes please let me know. I used to fish there over 20 years ago and the place brings back memories as I got hooked in carp fishing and loved it there. I stopped going when the debenture started as the massive cost was not affordable at the time. I have been looking into re-joining again but have seen the threads of it may go bust, gone downhill etc so am keeping my eye on posts here until it's safe to buy in. Thanks

It's a far cry from the days when it was run by ARC (Amey Roadstone Company), a "lifetime" debenture was always going to be questionable considering how owners change, circumstances change and developers start sniffing around.
A terrible loss for those who paid the full whack for a so called 'lifetimes' fishing.
At least Horseshoe seems to be going in the right direction despite two of the committee desperately trying to heave off all monies for their own greedy pockets.

In reply to Post #42 No one will ever know what's going on up there, not the best people to deal with I'm afraid.

In reply to Post #41 According to companies house Dorchester resources Ltd is not a current company, its not a dissolved company and its not a name that has been changed.
So - just what is going on?
According to the land registry David Marl owns a lot - when you say its owned by the daughter - which bits do you refer to?

In reply to Post #39 I'm sure Dorchester resources limited are the owning group of dovecote lake next door......
David......I could see them going into liquidation as they wouldn't have to buy everyone back out of the debentures......everything is in his wife and daughters name meaning Dave could go bankrupt without losing any thing in reality......
