One decent knock in a year is not good enough to get any player selected, compare kp's form to that of Jason Roy and you see there's no pressure on the selectors to bring him back.

Any chance he had of playing for England again disappeared when his book came out

UPDATE: Lovely touch of irony from Gary Lineker ion Twitter. He tweeted: "I see @KP24 has been bashing it around. If England weren't in such fine form they could probably have used someone like him."

Fine form...Love it!

FYI: Pietersen scored 66 off 46 balls for the Melbourne Stars in his first innings in this year's Big Bash in Australia.

Bump...So 4 months after my meal of humble pie, can I stick my head above the parapet and say, "FFS, get rid of Cook!"? How many chances does one man need. He's a busted flush, a useless captain and we might as well try Root who will give 100% for England.

The only person I know who has had more chances at reviving his professional career is Ravel Morrison, and it looks as if finally even he has run out of mugs to give him a job.

COOK OUT!

Kinda embarrassed by this post. I suppose I could always go back and edit it but they sure have left me with egg on my face.

Hindsight...It's a wonderful gift if you have got it!

Well done, England, for tuning it around so dramatically.

About time! I was thinking of selling my tickets for the oval test but not now they've woke up.

I'm just hoping cook can keep scoring runs and hopefully some clear thinking can return to his captaincy.

I suspect Robson may be out if he doesn't find some runs soon, root or ballance to open with cook and Jason Roy to bat at 5
Roy, butler and stokes as the lower order will cause havoc!

Mighty Mo made short work of that

He'll need to up his game a bit before throwing some balls at the likes of Clarke and co.
We came up against a pretty average india in this game

UPDATE: Told ya! Is this a seminal moment or are England still only half way round the corner?

Well done, England, and Moeen, despite that beard!

Not long now! Should be over before lunch...This is a different England we are seeing. Complete turn around in attitude and application.

BUT...One win (or even a series win) against a fledgling Indian team must not make them over confident. The elephant in the room (Aussies in 2015) cannot be ignored.

That's better, Alistair! Shame you didn't make your ton but it's a start!

Looks like a doddle of a wicket, though!
