In reply to Post #10 I could imagine the look on the Missus face when a side loader rolls up with a pallet of protein

In reply to Post #9 Would soya protein be better ?
probably on a nutritional level, it has higher levels of methionine, cystine and phenylalanine, put 50g into your mix and it makes it roll like it has 20% soya.....smooth but light.
IMO it would depend on what properties pea isolate would give to the mix

In reply to Post #8 its a pain in the butt when you want a kilo to try and have to buy a tonne. Request a sample and assay sheet?
The health food version is isolate 80% protein, the feed grade is probably 30-60% and similar to SG-60 which is a by product of the starch extraction process.

In reply to Post #7 You should be looking for pea protein powder intended for animal feed, but i can't find a price on this, all i can find is big bulk deals with negotiable price, minimum order etc....

In reply to Post #4 I don't see why not mate. If you look at Maples, then they are a kind of spilt pea and they speak for themselves (especially over silt). I suppose the only concern would be their binding qualities.
Food for thought.....

In reply to Post #2 Just peas mate, the green round ones...you can find it on the net sold as "pea protein powder", 60% protein seems to be standard protein level for this product.
When I saw the list of ingredients on some carnivorous fish feeds and found this, I couldn't help but remember the famous saying of big bait companies "Ingredients never used before in carp baits"...
I do not think it's a "magic" ingredient but like silverfish said maybe it can be used to adjust mixes.
was just curious really, but it looks like not many people use it!

Never seen it advertised as carp bait ingredient, or talked about on forums.
I was searching for fish feeds and noticed this as a ingredient, if salmon and trout can get some good from it, I think carp can get even more...
I know people use peas as particles, anyone used pea meal/powder in their baits?
