In reply to Post #1161 the ACAS is one of the best run clubs i know by the members for the members. Which is why the waiting list is so long

i read this post a long time ago and didnt even bother replying as i know the whole post was bull ****!
i know that anyone getting resufed a ticket is done infront of the whole comitee. not by the receptionist as you put it. who i also know personally and is one of the nicest guys i know. he would not swear down the phone unreasonably.
and as the person who monitors the working partys for this club, i didnt see your name on a single one....
so the answer to your question is no. If you bide by the rules and do things like turn up for 2 working parties a year (a condition of membership) then you will not have problems.

In reply to Post #1158 i waited over 4 years to get a ticket it was 2 years
i sent a letter to the receptionist with my cheque saying i have moved to a new address so can you please send my info to this new address Just like the letter you sent to Ashley Pit that got 'Lost in the post'
If you dont turn up to working parties or even contact the club then you will lose your ticket, thats the rules and the way most decent clubs work

Dont know when you got in but the application form has even been changed as from last month, and now checks out proposer and seconder, which previously was only at the interveiw.

Hi Danial i'm a fishery officer for abbey cross and have to say that we are tightening up on new members as there is always a waiting list so can be choosy who comes in. You now need to have a member who has a perfect record with the club and also seconded by another if you step out of line on your years probation the people who proposed you can also loose there ticket, so its down to the members you know or you will not get in

In reply to Post #15 No but I was working on the asumption that as this question was asked on a Carp website he would be looking to join Abbey Cross for the Nazeing waters
I believe Brooke lake is an excellent little water and worlds apart from the chaos on the Railway.
Other clubs close by are Kings Arms

In reply to Post #11 My mate got in this year he has been on the list for about 4 years, you need 2 members to get you to the interview stage knowing more members will not get you to this stage any quicker...
