In reply to Post #591 As mentioned - this thread now takes too long to trawl through, so here is part 2
Perhaps Mike could copy his photo guide and post it in part 2. If you do Mike, can you pm me and I will sticky it to the top of the thread please?

In reply to Post #570 hey marco,
do you have a PCB with the TX amplifier mod? what device did you use? the TX2 / RX2 from Radiometrix? I'm not sure from where on the trandsducer board to catch the entry signal for transmitter.
thank you,
sasa

In reply to Post #587 Nope it wasn't m8 dint get paranoid lol
its just Mike spent god knows how much of his own money and time experimenting and perfecting the mods
and answering every ones questions THEN to help people even more he took the time to photograph stage by stage his mods for the able people to have a go and do it themselves ALL this was done freely i KNOW
It took him many hours
And i was just pointing this out 35 pages of bloody amazing info with all questions answered
as they say seek and ye shall find
I had a chat with mike and he WILL at some stage mod peoples floats for them BUT at the moment for the next few months at least he has no time due to changing his job
hope this clears things up

In reply to Post #586 can be arsed to read
If that was aimed at me then i would like to point out that i did infact trawl through all 35 pages but my electronics knowledge is 0 and i really don't fancy buggering up lots of floats and recievers which is why i was asking if mike still modified them!

In reply to Post #585 Mike said yes
And sends his apologise as he has had a career change and has very little free time at the moment
he will do his best to answer people but can ONLY do this when time allows and he has precious little time at the moment and of course he does have a wife and kids that come first
EDIT Most of your questions HAVE allready been answered in this thread including Range questions and EVEN a step by step photo sequence and instructions on how to mod it your self
IF !! you can be arsed to read it ?

In reply to Post #580 Thanks Mike.
I went and bought the retractable swivel ones in the end. all done and glue. tested yesterday and got..................................5 foot. i need to read right through this lot again as i cant see what i have done wrong. is there a right/wrong height to have the aerials. i pull them both up all the way.
in the base unit i have about 25mm of wire going from the PCB to the BNC male end and that all.
in the float i have the RG58 from inside float going to the battery box.
the float is an A float. don't know if this makes a difference.
something i did notice was that the boat misbehaved a little, almost as if the signal to it was lagging and i had to over correct the steering all the time. it didn't do this once i turned the float off.
the boat is a standard AT boat and the two aerials are 70mm(ish) away from each other.
Is there a way to test if its the boat or float that's at fault. i have no one with another float around here.
thank again
Kind regards
Phil.

In reply to Post #579 Hi Phil.
That stubby aerial you've linked to will work fine but I have no idea what range you'll get with it.
The only thing you should note is it uses an M4 screw to attach and not a BNC connector.
Regards
Mike
