This is the response from Gigantica
In response to those who cannot understand why Gigantica is choosing to retain only the £100 nonrefundable deposit after France went into Lockdown, we ask everyone to understand a business is made up of people. Those people have a wage that pays their bills, their mortgage and feed their families. Gigantica will continue to pay those wages in spite of a major substantial loss for the coming weeks. Gigantica will be loosing a minimum of £395 per person over the whole period which is almost four times what any individual will lose. We believe this is more than appropriate when we are not legally bound to return any monies and the situation is beyond all of our control. We hope you can look at this from both sides and understand we should all share the burden of this situation, and appreciate that we are giving back far more than we actually need to.

Gigantica, shutting for 30 days at least, refunding money, except the £100 deposits.
Nothing wrong with that......Its a NON Refundable deposit.....

Lol
It's far more generous than many other French fisheries, it should be applauded.

Maybe, what would I have done if I was still operating a lake in France, in a word....more!

Fair play they'll carry on paying their employees wages whilst losing money at an unprecedented time. Let's see how many other companies are arsed/able to commit too the same.

You agree to their terms when you book. So surely the clue is NON refundable? If you don't like or agree to the possibility you will lose that 100 pounds then you don't book.

Leaves a little bit of a nasty taste though.
I can understand "non refundable" in the case of somebody cancelling their trip and leaving them with a blank week at short notice.
But that isn't the case in this instance.
People who want to go now can't through no fault of their own.
I think that the fishery should have made an exception in this case.
But that's only my opinion, and like ********s, we all have our own.

I agree to an extent. But their closure isn't their fault either. It's a difficult one. I would have thought the least they could do was offer alternative dates later this year or next.

I also think Gigantica should be applauded. Friends of mine have been told that they will not get back any of their full payment made or an alternative date for next year ! The venue Napoleon Lakes will not even answer their messages !!!

I'm told Gigantica are now refunding the none returnable deposits after Tom @ Sticky Baits offered to reimburse all those that lost out from his own pocket.
Dunno how accurate this is. Odd state of affairs if true.
