Come across this pit recently and there isn't a great deal written about the place, maybe for a reason!
Its only round the corner from St Ives where I currently fish, which I fear will be busier than the norm this season.
From the few pictures I have seen it looks like the ultimate water, I know a few names have been sniffing around it in recent years but have no clue on the stock what is left in there...

Been a while since I lived down that way but was always told it was full of bream and that 1 mystical catfish thats apparently in all lakes.
I was always intrigued by the LAA pits down river lane in Brampton

The old LAA pits at Brampton were taken over a couple of years ago with the intention of being dug out a bit, clear all the overgrown trees and bushes, fenced and stock it and charge the going rate for a "syndicate"
Not sure how it's progressing as I moved out of the village early last year...
I'm not sure about Hemingford, if you're on St Ives then a couple of the usual characters might be worth asking the question to...

Anglers Mail years ago had an article on it, and Rod Hutchinson and Tim Paisley I think both wrote about it as passing it on journeys elsewhere. Tim Paisleys piece was in 'More from the Bivvy', a chapter as he drove from 'up North' to the ferry on his way to France, with waters he passed on his way.

I used to fish the golf course opposite when it was a syndicate, some lovely old fish in there.

cheers for replies chaps. certainly looks like a mega pit, will see how busy it gets this year as heard a lot are being shown around it already.

Always listed in carp water books as having a very small head of carp and a head banger!!!!!
Wasn't there rumours of a big leather in there at one point?
I think there are a few threads on the place on here but doubt they will give much away

There's more than one 'mythical' catfish in there, I can assure you of that... carp wise, well... just spend some time looking round and you'll see what's what. Else
