Ouch, that's not a good place to have that kind of bug.
I picked something similar up in Madagascar, no fun whatsoever and jut have to flush it all through.
One more thing if you're fishing like that, you will lose rods so go and get yourself a couple of dog leads, loop the non looped end through the loop and slide it over the reel stem and pull it tight. Secure the other end to something solid, a 5lb Jack will take that pod in the water in seconds.

Thanks mate that’s some great information. Much appreciated.
Only managed to get out once so far… Unfortunately I brought norovirus with me from the UK…. Spent the first 14 days here doubled up in agony. Never been so ill. Bringing a virus that thrives in 4 degrees into a daily 34 degrees allows that virus to go mental. Thought I was going to die 🤣 Still got three weeks left luckily 🥳

That definitely looks like a sailfish to me, they often mooch around like that with sails up.
Floatwise use small coke bottles etc, the green gatorade ones are great, or balloons if you can get hold of them.
The little floaty noodles that you get for kids in the pool are also good and can be chopped down to size easily.
For the silvery predators I'm guessing they're likely Jack Crevalles or similar, brilliant fighters and very obliging. For these I'd suggest some heavy dexter wedges or see if you can get some small GT Ice Cream lures or Samson lures. Really easy to fish with and can cast them an absolute mile.

Definitely get some to try mate. It’s not garlic, it’s halibut flavouring I think mate. That or some kind of fish flavour probably mixed with some aminos liquid or similar. Definitely has a halibut pellet smell but there is no oil in it.
Rods are rigged up ready for an early morning trip. I was jet lagged today, and it was 32 at 10am, to bloody hot for fishing! I even brought a little pump for a lively bucket this time. I fancy I’m going to catch some whoppers!! I had no floats last time, and live baits on the bottom just brought big stingrays. Seen some pukka big silver things hunting on the surface that looked a bit like silver perch, but 2-3 foot ones!
Can’t wait to give these DAM travel rods a good go. They look and feel absolutely pukka.

Nice one Mark, I will get some of the gulp stuff 
Now that is some good pier fishing, better get a gaff and forget the forceps 
I’m loving a bit of spinning and messing about, might have a dabble for some pike and perch this winter

There's an American version called 'fish bites' mate. They do a sand flea one which is really good, and they do a crab one. That stuff is hard to get hold of though in the UK. I was given some to try by that American bloke.
I'm sure the Berkley gear it helps that I choose the bright pink ones. A tiny chunk of that is very visible in the clear sea water from a long way away. I picked the sand eels as they are the perfect shape for cutting up too, getting the maximum amount of hook baits from a packet.
You can reuse it too. I keep it all in a pop up tub with the juice. Once the used hook bait is dried back out, I pop it off the hook and back into the pop up tub.
I gave a pink sand eel to a Brazilian angler. He was amazed at the fishes reaction to them..

A fake ragworm might be a stretch, must take the fun out of hooking them while they're trying to bite you 
If there's a crab version that'd probably be what I'd try first
The telescopic rod did me proud this year, managed a few smoothhounds on it aswell as a few other species that don't pull back as much. I haven't bought a longer one as yet but I'll hope to have got one by the spring, I don't think I'll be fishing off the beach now till then

The Gulp out fished fresh shrimp for me, which I found incredible mate. Nah it’s not got a garlic smell to me, it smells weird. Bloody works though trust me!!
Great for catching live baits. I intend to catch this mofo below 😂
I took this photo from a video I shot whilst fishing. At first at the time I thought it was a dolphin. But I later got told it’s a sail fish of some kind, probably marlin. That’s 100 yards off the pier I’m fishing off. That will be fun on my little travel rods 😂

Bought some of savage gear stuff and a few highly rated bass lures which can be expensive!
Seen the Gulp stuff, interesting, will have a look, believe it’s some sort of garlic flavour?

I had some new kit arrive yesterday for Brazil. I’d previously been stealing Gary Peets kit. Not beach fishing with tides, pier fishing behind storm barriers, so I can get away with lighter leads and kit.
First rod is for float fishing live baits. Dam Quadra 9ft 4 piece 30-80g. I’d guess it’s around 3lb TC. That will have an 8010 baitrunner on with .37 braid. The telescopic is a Dam Shadow 9ft 25-40g… That one is for catching live baits.That will have a Drennan 4000D with .20 braid on. Both are incredibly lovely rods… The action on the telescopic is amazing.
A great tip if any of you ever go anywhere you think you may struggle for shrimp or cut bait… The Berkley Gulp soft lures… Make the best cut bait ever. Clean, very very durable… And the fish go absolutely wild for it cut into small pieces. Best tip I was ever given by an American friend. I’m taking 8 packs in my suitcase this winter 😂

Only just seen this, looked at a quite a few myself over the last couple of months.
Years ago I bought a 14 foot Kevlar telescopic beachcaster in Lanzarote, used it for quite a few years. I have gone for a 9 foot spinning travel rod with a rating of 15 to 40 grams, purely because it can cover most situations including a bit better of float fishing, 10 foot possibly ideal?
Loads of options to suit all pockets, telescopic to 4 or 5 piece. I bought a second had Shimano Exage rod off EBay which is quite good, until I broke a couple of rings lol. Knowing what I know now, wish I had pushed the boat out and bought a Daiwa Whisker travel, probably last for years!
Anyway, sounds like you are sorted pal

Wsb looks to be trade only but I will give bison another look
I was surprised how good the telescopic is, they've come a long way from the crap available 15 years ago, more than good enough to use for family day trips flinging a few feathers about.
I couldn't get the range I wanted tho so am still looking for a longer rod, my 14ft 2 piece rods just aren't practical with the family in the car

Yes,they not a well known brand,something to do with Glasgow angling centre I believe..
My lad has had some stainless,and carbon bankware and it was ,is decent..
Another company worth looking at is WSB,tackle based down here ,think they do multipiece sea rods as well..
