So after a good few years away my rig tying skills have all but left me.
My eyes are now not what they were which doesn't help but I'm really struggling with the whipping not on the hook.
Any tips?

Not sure if you mean knotless knot or whipping knot as in korda iq d rig?

The arthritis in my fingers plays up every now and then and it hurts when I try to whip the hook
Plus being left handed doesn't help as the line fights all the time
I just have to knotless knot them on.
I Have the same hassle when tying flies trying to dub on materials the thread unwinds lol

One thing that helped me a bunch, even though it's something simple is to put the tag end through the eye of the hook which keeps it out the way. It always got in the way whenever i've tied it. If you're talking spade end hooks then i can't help

What rig are you trying to tie up? If it's the a chod rig or similar then the best video to watch is probably the Terry Hearn one as he takes you through the whipping slowly which is a bit difficult to explain in words. If it is the IQ2 D-rig then there are alternative options to create the same thing.

It's the IQ D rig with the whipping knot to form the D opposite the barb and then a knotless knot as normal.
Could just use a D Rig kicker thing.

There is a video on you tube where it shows you how to use a small tube, cotton bud is fine. Search easy Snell knot

If that's the case and you are having a bit of trouble with the whipping knot, I would just tie a simple 3/4 turn blood knot where you would the whipping knot, put your mini swivel on and then continue to tie the knotless knot.

After a few hours practice and watched many videos I've nailed it. Not the easiest rig to tie but hopefully worth it

Yep , agree , I do the same and putting the tag through the eye makes it much easier
