otherwise all drivers of big cars would be pulled over wouldn't they?

But young white men with expensive cars get pulled over Mal.
A black family man, wife and two kids shouldn't get pulled over without good reason otherwise it's racism
The point I continue to make is I don't think the two examples in that article are particularly good.
Same as the train a young white man travelling in 1st Class will be asked to produce a ticket.
Personally I think all tickets should be checked but if the only one on the train to be checked is a middle aged black man dressed as a business man then that would be racist.

But it clearly says he was asked for a ticket and two white passengers weren't. Why only him?
Your point is valid but in relation to Danny Rose and the article it isn't because it literally proves that it was racist...what's stopping you accepting that?

Most people who travel 1st Class are usually older business types and I assume the two white passengers fit that category. Younger casually dressed people whatever their colour who wouldn't normally travel 1st class would be asked to produce a ticket.
If the two white people were of a similar age to Danny, dressed casually and were not singled out then that would be racism.

And then someone would add a 'ah but....'

That's because for every response their is a counter response and you do not like it.

Nobody is denying racism does not happen, its there, what are we going to do about it?

And like already mentioned, yes, its people, and that's all colours too

So you've assumed something to justify it wasn't a racist incident.

No what I saying was that the Independent article wasn't a particularly good one.

That article could've applied to a young white man.

It needs to have burning crosses, white hoods and recorded racial slurs for Slow Bob to believe and rate as a good one, you must get that.

But it didn't in his case and he was singled out for a ticket inspection.

What sort of white person could it apply to? Do rich white kids get the same treatment? I know I've never been singled out for a ticket inspection in first class travel and Don't ‘fit in' with the “typical first class traveller”

Also, why is this a thing, anyone from anywhere is allowed to buy a first class ticket, there is no dress code, so no one should be singled out for any reason. The fact you are declaring that if you're not dressed smartly you aren't likely to be a first class traveller is ridiculous.

Sounds to me that you think we all live a perfect world where everything is fair, I wish for that world but sadly in my experience it doesn't happen.
Unfortunately if you are young travel 1st Class, or drive an expensive car you are more likely to be questioned.
If you are young wear a hoody, hang around street corners, walk the streets in the middle of night especially carrying a holdall , wear clothes with expletives blazoned on them, avoid eye contact or generally act strangely or arrogantly etc etc then you are more likely to get stopped, the older you get the less it happens.
If you are young and black then I accept this might happen more, Danny Rose has only just turned 30 which to an older person is still young and being an athlete he looks younger but it's not exclusive to blacks it can happen to young whites as well.
What I find hard to believe is a ticket inspector not checking everyone's ticket, I've never been on a train where an inspector has not asked to see my ticket, they ask everyone, absolutely without question everyone. I will speculate and say maybe if you tell someone how to do their job you will not get the response you were after.

Not much more I can say so maybe this will be my last post on the matter.

Or at least since you first saw it a couple of months back on a YouTube video eh?

Of course you don't like that word. It starts with U and you only think about 'me'....

Tinhead - you have made your point and I guess the big difference for black young men is that it's probably a consideration whereas for young white men it's possibly. ... as you have said to be fair.

Come on Mal, got to do better than that.......in a perfect world it's perfect, but we don't and never ever will as it's simply not possible for human beings to conform to this perfect world.......natural instinct and built in defences In the brain see to that......

so your natural instinct is to persecute? you feel you need to defend yourself against... people with DIFFERENT COLOUR SKIN

Balls - I know the world isn't perfect but that doesn't mean you should cop out of trying to make it better

couple of news pop ups from this evening...

If you didn't see 'The Talk' on Ch4 tonight, it's really worth a watch. Not sensationalised, just simple stories of what it means to grow up black in the UK. I know I'm the resident snowflake BLM sympathiser, but why not have an open mind and give it a go.

This is my point all along Mal. Nobody is denying it. The fact is, unless you take some kind of political stand you are powerless to do anything about it. As long as the individual conducts themselves in a proper manner that's all one can do. There will always be morons in this life but your right, the more it is publicised the more these morons will stand out. From an individual all we can do is treat people on face value and with respect, that's it for me

As I see it at the moment, nobody has promoted it more than football, more than the government but to be fair, it's a good platform to start with for me
Are you sure?
