"Decades from now, the black community will still be blaming others without looking within, and still not recognising it's their lack of ambition and self victimisation that is holding them back, not whitey."

Nothing like full on racial stereotyping

That should read as "parts of the black community". However, there is no doubt at all that there needs to be some serious inward reflection by the black community, and they need to ask some serious questions as to why their children are disproportionately in prison, involved in gang crime, involved in knife crime, involved in black on black crime, and why the likes of Trident are still in existence. Nothing is improving, it's only getting worse. Their Asian mayor seems to get off lightly in the criticism when it comes to the amount of young black children dying in the streets too, of which I have had the displeasure of witnessing.

I fully recognise that there are black people from poor backgrounds who have succeeded in life. My issue is with those in poorer communities who have no aspirations apart from creating wealth through any means possible as they have no positive role models. That is their problem, and not the fault of the posh boy Etonians in which the black community choose as an easy target for their woes. I guess it's Boris' fault as well that a huge number grow up without a father figure.

To dismiss the above as just stereotyping, or even worse as "racism" just allows the issues to fester even more.

Well...

Perhaps decades from now parts of the white community (to borrow your phraseology) will realise that they are talking utter sh*te when it comes to dismissal of racial inequality in 2020...

We can but hope eh?

Mal,

Trust me, I find the likes of Britain First, EDL and the BNP/NF before them to be absolute brain dead morons just like you and the vast majority.

I just feel the black community need to look within and address some pressing issues before hanging all their coats on a single convenient coat peg.

If you really find the EDL etc. so moronic then maybe don't write posts that could easily be attributed to them eh?

To address a couple of your points...

'whatshisname' - He was called George Floyd. Either you are so ignorant on what you are posting about that you didn't know (and couldn't be bothered to do a 2 second google search), or you used that term intentionally to be insulting and provocative which of course would be moronic.

'Their Asian mayor' - Who's mayor exactly? The Black community? Why just 'their' mayor - because his skin is a different shade? Sounds like something Tommy Robinson might say in one of his moronic moments. Are you implying he only represents the black community because of his skin colour. In that case - using that same logic, no wonder we are in such a state with the white racists Prime Minister in charge...

'a single convenient coat peg' - 'trust me' there's nothing convenient about decades of systematic racism. Well not for those who have experienced it anyway.

'disproportionately in prison' - already been posts here about racial profiling and the far greater likelihood of stop and search / charges / convictions for young black men. There are investigations happening right now within the Police force to address the problem.

your comments on the black community not looking inwards simply show your ignorance of the situation. You seem to be unaware of the work done within the black community on a daily basis to help redress the balance. And equally unaware that this work has been repeatedly hindered by years of cuts to youth and community services making it impossible to run projects / fund youth workers and centres / food banks / knife, drug and gang related initiatives. It's why the term 'systematic' racism is used. It runs through the system, not just individuals.

'what have we achieved ... nothing' - again, showing either ignorance or purposeful denial. Lots has been achieved already and more is being put in place to ensure that the good start continues. Industries are looking at their policies and practices. Educational establishments are openly admitting the need for change. Awareness is hugely increased. Maybe you really haven't noticed - but then maybe you don't need to.

I'm not going to bother with the ridiculous stereotyping. Or the contradiction in terms of role models.

If you are interested enough to start a thread then go have a look at what's happening - really happening - outside too. You might be surprised.

Funnily enough some of his children are growing up without him as a father figure

Thanks for the reply Mal, I forgot about the work that community groups undertaken in the community, as well as within prisons so thanks for the reminder.

Either you are so ignorant on what you are posting about that you didn't know (and couldn't be bothered to do a 2 second google search), or you used that term intentionally to be insulting and provocative which of course would be moronic.

It was tongue in cheek. People have forgotten his name because the focus has shifted from his unlawful killing to mindless rioting and looting, of which does more to damage poorer communities.

'Their Asian mayor' - Who's mayor exactly? The Black community? Why just 'their' mayor - because his skin is a different shade? Sounds like something Tommy Robinson might say in one of his moronic moments

I meant residents of London, of which knife crime and gang crime are ever increasing despite the work of youth and community services. Hence why I said nothing is being achieved. One step forward...

Mal, don't take my badly constructed words literally. The only problem with this platform is you aren't face to face, so detecting sarcasm is difficult! I don't see colour when I speak to someone, I hate everyone equally , so no need imply that I have a issues with certain people just because of the level of melatonin they possess.

I would be interested to learn more about the Police investigation, as that is one that will have interesting consequences. However, with the black lads I met within prison, they weren't tax evaders, shop lifters or joy riders, the vast majority were "gang bangers", drugs dealers and murderers. All of whom should be in jail, right?

They? We live in Britain in 2020 mate. Do you not think it's a British problem to solve? Why's nothing improving if we've known the problems leaving people and areas behind causes? Inward reflection is definitely needed and you need to broaden your views on by who.

Hi Aidey

fair enough and thanks for replying to clarify. You are right about the way forum posts can work / not work at times.

I'm passionate about this - you might have guessed

I agree that rightly convicted criminals should be in prison (or whatever the sentence might be). I've heard a lot lately about the black community not doing enough to combat knife crime / black on black crime. The 'white community' is never given that same responsibility for tackling knife crime (yes, white people carry knives too) or white on white crime. It's accepted that the Police will do that job (as it is their job). Inequality of expectation there?

I'm also not saying that any community is perfect and doesn't have its' own set of unique issues. Simply that these issues don't always stem from within the community, but are often a response to the bigger picture - in this case systematic race inequality.

I'm not sure if people are forgetting George Floyd's name, but I agree that the picture has widened hugely. By way of an analogy, his death was like a stone in a pond and the ripples are spreading. Even today with the Washington Redskins changing their name - after many years of request from the Native american community. It might not have mean too much to some white American NFL fans, but it is important for others.

I'm glad you started this thread - others might be done with it by now, but it's opened up some really good debate.

here's one to consider - not a lazy gang banger complaining, but an elected MP trying to help in a community and suffering threats in relation to her colour...

So basically poor people need to sort their own sh*t out but people that arent poor can have their sh*t sorted by the government??

Wonder where inward reflection would lead...lets go on a journey... why are more of this community in prison? well because we have more criminals....why do we have more criminals? because we are poor and quick easy money cash helps us out, because the gangs that operate and prey on the poor groom children to work for them so kids enter a life of crime from a young age, because poor people are statistically more likely to suffer from mental health issues, anger issues, and generally be more anxious because sometimes they dont know how they will pay for their next meal, all of this leads to friction and volatility....okay so why are we poor then? because of crime, because single parent households, etc.

Or maybe some more logical reflection from everyone... why are so many of this community in prison? well (and this is true of America btw) For small amounts of drug possession there's more black people in jail than there is for rape and armed robbery and murder put together. In America prison is private, $50,000 per inmate on average, its big business. In the UK we have only 14 privately run prisons, just shy of £40,000 per prisoner (10,500 of them in 2018). It's mega money. It's socially engineered to keep the poor poor. most of them are in council housing, which could be made nicer but it isn't. the schools in the areas are underfunded when they should be better funded than schools in well off areas.

There is so much to delve in to I haven't got the time tbh.

Well, we have a new African lady who started this week. I hope she was employed because she was the right person for the job

See we are going round and round again.

Q1. Why are there so many successful black people in the U.K.?

They probably had a good up bringing, concentrated and did well at school, have ambition installed in them and the drive to do well. They want to be a success

Q2. Why are there so many unsuccessful black people in the country?

They probably did not have that father figure around to give them the support and direction when they needed it. Probably because there father was a bell end and was not about?

Possibly a few other reasons too, one thing for sure, I'm positive it is nothing to do with racists comments?

Here's one for you to consider. A lot of the black men that I have dealt with have had a very bad attitude, can be extremely aggressive and have a proper chip on their shoulder. Then you wonder why nobody will employ them or they can't hold a job down

Similar situation with the Tommy Robinson gang, bad attitude, world owes them a living, can't hold a job down, don't want a job, want 30k a year to get out of bed with no skills and a ****ing bad attitude

Please answer Q1. Before you attempt answer Q2.

From what I'm reading on here lately I'm getting the impression that we (white people ) are to blame for their actions and it's not their fault.

Always easier to blame everything and everybody else

After all, we are a communist country and there are no opportunities for anybody in the U.K.
Are you sure?

This action cannot be undone.
