If you defend yourself you are being attacked first...if you attack someone and call it self-defence even though you werent attacked that just means you attacked.
In any case, Palestine has the same right to defend it self as Israel does doesnt it?

Israel is open to all , as long as your jewish , fair enough , i can understand that ! but if your a black jew you will be a second class citizen , it has become an apartheid state where the Palestinians are concerned , what they are doing to the Palestinians is unacceptable under any law , it is an illegal occupation ! they are deliberately creating an environment to make life impossible for the inhabitants , anyone who has bothered to look in depth at what is really happening there , should be shocked and feel a certain level of empathy for them unless your a twisted racist that is !
Maybe look into the massacre at Shatila and Sabra , or the US Liberty massacre and the attempted cover up , Israel can get away with murder , and they regularly do !
