I get the picture in my head, Jon thinks like Robin Hood taking from the rich and giving to the poor, wasn't he an outlaw?

He was indeed Scozza, as well as being an all round good bloke who enjoyed having a laugh, and was very successful with the maidens, despite the tights.

The UK has one of the widest gaps between the rich and the poor. If you're comfortable making that gap even wider by taking away from those at the bottom of the pile, fair enough, but I wouldn't be.

The sheriff of Nottingham wasn't an outlaw, but was widely regarded as a bit of a ****.

Think your getting confused here Jon. Nobody has said anything about taking anything off them. It's about making those who are capable of working, work for their benefits, and if they are capable of working but still don't want to, then you are right they would be paid absolutely rock bottom for me and I think that's fair. Why should we pay for some lazy ****s who are capable of working but simply do not want to?

It also gives them an opportunity to get a work ethic, get a job and hopefully be able to hold that job down. A starting point and hopefully progression

Over to you Sheriff

I get where you're coming from (the big castle in Nottingham ) but I really don't see how you could implement such a plan. The looming prospect of thousands of unemployed as a result of the Covid situation will only make it more impossible.

A negative approach is what we are always looking for, the reasons not to is far easier than the reason to

It would start with the DHSS with, these are your options, there's the job people over there. If your not interested then over there is the door and you get what you get. The choice is yours

Things have to change, for the better

I said it earlier get able bodied people to clean and improve the environment. Don't make it a punishment though make it something that you are admired for.

Would have explained a lot.

"A" great leader. The same as Disraeli, Lincoln, Keir Hardi etc.
But none of the above proposed the Civil Rights Act. So weren't used. As usual your conclusion is wrong as it's formed with paranoia.

So there's already jobs for these people to do? I'm more a fan of training for the unemployed. Like the old skill centre courses. It should be mandatory.

this thread is rapidly turning into that corner of the pub where all the old men sit talking bull

a few old gits complaining about 'bloody foreigners taking all the jobs', that bloke who googles the thing you were talking about and then comes back with a load of what he thinks is very clever stuff but actually is missing the point, the gob***** who chips in now and then with a remark that he thinks is funny (but is just a casually racist joke he saw on facebook), the 'in my day' bloke who can't remember to pull his flies up when he comes back from the loo but can apparently remember when this country was 'great', a couple of blokes who do know some stuff and do a decent job of deflating some of the crap argument from both sides, 'joe average' who doesn't really support any of the extremes and would happily drink his pint in peace and let others do the same, a Greek lad (other nationalities are available of course), the proper racist who wants 'them' to 'go back where they came from' .... and the 'snowflake' of course ... ( )

i may have missed a couple, but I'm sure the gob***** will chip in to remind me...

anyway - and I do mean this - have a good day.

It's Sunday. Have a rest, kiss your family if you can, tell someone that you haven't told for a while that they're great / you love them. Wash the car / dog / neighbour. Have a roast / curry / lentil salad. Make a mess with the kids. Go fishing....
