The danger of trying to ensure nobody gets something they don't deserve is that some will lose out because of systematic flaws and false assumptions. When you wrote about it being Wayne's mother who brought him up I almost replied that that was a bit of stereotype, even though I automatically assumed it was his mother as well.

I was wrong and I'm glad I didn't post that as I would have just looked even more sanctimonious.

Hi noj,

Both of those black professors grew up in poor conditions in the time of segregation. One was adopted by an aunt and the other raised by a single mother. They have written many books on the cultural conditions of modern black Social history. They are considered experts on the subject.
If they and the other commentators I mentioned, are not qualified to understand the black community, I wonder who you think is? It's social history and community relations, not quantum physics.
The homicide figures I quoted were from official FBI crime stats. Not sure how easily they could be manipulated. Not sure why you seem determined to dismiss the credibility of the above experts?

BB.

When your go-to economic guru is Patrick Minford, you can't complain when your experts of choice on other subjects don't get instant respect.

Who said that?

The kid will have United States of America stamped on it when he gets a passport. Not Chicago or Charleston. Your figures show the totally disproportionate lives led by Americans with black skin. That's been like that for far too long. Federal government is the only way to change the status quo as a great leader JFK did before with the eventual 64 Civil Rights Act. Your man can wheel out all the talking coloured heads he wants, the audience aren't listening anymore. They see him as a bulwark of the problem.

Hi Jon,

Use your own damn phrases and don't plagiarize mine.
I have the armour of self confidence to dismiss your feeble insults.

Sorry BB, but I'll be honest. I can't take your sanctimonious regurgitations of tripe by a couple of blokes that were poor in the 60s seriously.
I've read books on astronomy but it doesn't make me Patrick Moore, same as you aren't a voice for African Americans

Hi Ocelot,

You have a warped view of the reality.
The 1964 civil rights act only passed because most Republican senators voted for it. It wouldn't have passed otherwise because most southern Democrats opposed it. Remember it was Dems who brought in the Jim Crow segregation laws in the first place.
States have much autonomy in the government of their states and are directly responsible for their police, schools etc. and the welfare and social conditions of their citizens. Most inner city black cities have been totally controlled by Dems for decades with little or no improvement to their social conditions.
8 years of Obama made no difference either. Since Trump came in office, several important improvements have been made, which I listed in previous posts. Why didn't Obama introduce these measures?
Democrat mayors now want to defund the police and make black communities even more murderous.
How stupid and irresponsible is that? The lunatics really have taken over the asylum.

Are you on drugs?
Where did I mention any political party. Something's definitely warped.

Hi noj,

I actually care about the murder and mayhem that goes on in those black inner cities and think they have been badly let down and neglected by their politicians.
If you think my efforts to try and understand their problems and the answers to them is sanctimonious tripe, then you are entitled to your opinion. All I can say is that my concern is genuine.
As I said, if you dismiss the credibility of the people I referenced, then who do you think has the credibility to understand the issues and offer viable solutions?
You say about reading books doesn't make you an expert. Well these men actually wrote the books on the subject. And I certainly don't consider myself a voice for US blacks.

Hi Ocelot,

No, I'm not on drugs.
You spoke of your great leader JFK, a Democrat and referenced to me, your man, meaning Trump a
Republican.
Your implications were quite obvious.

A 'rich' economy like the UK should be able to give everyone enough to survive on, no matter what their motivation is.

Load of bollox, rich, your having a laugh. What we need to do is sort it out and make it stronger!

I get the picture in my head, Jon thinks like Robin Hood taking from the rich and giving to the poor, wasn't he an outlaw?

Or they could just tax the rich properly and stop tax evasion and make them pay their fair share like everyone else does. That might work.

I think a lot of you are ignoring an obvious factor in poverty and crime. It happens all over the world. Children are groomed from a young age to be part of drug gangs. Here you have the “county lines” problem happening right now in the present. Children as young as 11 being groomed to get involved in the drugs trade. Corrupted from a young age. Poverty plays its part because living in a poor estate you're likely to encounter this more than if you are better off. Simple as that.

Oh and BB you always try to make everything left vs right. But the truth is both the left and right have contributed to the problems and issues that now exist. That's in all areas of life tbh. Trying to make one look like they did one less turd in the ****show just makes you look a bit silly tbh.

I heard a quote from a black person which is probably controversial but it's also worth thinking about.
Black people in America only ever asked For equality when they could have sought revenge
Now it's very true. They were promised a lot post slavery and got none of it, since then they've only ever asked to be treated equally. After what they were subjected to for centuries They could well have gone out for revenge couldn't they, punished the people oppressing them. But they didn't. Maybe it's half the Reason they were kept oppressed, white fear of being enslaved themselves or Killed off.
Are you sure?

This action cannot be undone.
